GREEN MONSTER #19 TURBINE DRAGSTER TO DEBUT AT QUAKER CITY NOSTALGIA CLASSIC MAY 26

AKRON, Ohio. – The Green Monster lives! Arfons Racing announces the premiere of its modern recreation of the legendary Green Monster #19 front-engined turbine drag race car. The new Green Monster #19 will make its first public appearance Sunday, May 26 at Quaker City Motorsports Park outside of Salem, Ohio as part of Quaker City’s Nostalgia Classic.

Driver and owner, Tim Arfons has been putting the finishing touches on the recreated car and has made several testing passes in the 192 mph range. Tim, son of legendary racer Art Arfons, has spent the last two years faithfully recreating the car that he and his father campaigned in the early 1970s. “We’ve had the dragster at several car shows since we completed the build last fall,” says Arfons.
