Ken Quartuccio Scores $75,000 Outlaw Pro Mod Win at U.S. Street Nationals

BRADENTON, FL – Ken Quartuccio proved once again why he considers Bradenton Motorsports Park to be “home,” taking home a $75,000 payday and the Drag Illustrated Winter Series points lead driving the screw-blown ’69 Camaro out of the Scott Tidwell Racing camp. Quartuccio used a .001 reaction time and 3.586-second pass at 208.62 mph to defeat 2022 NHRA U.S. Nationals Pro Mod winner Lyle Barnett’s 3.608 at 207.62.

Quartuccio is no stranger to success at BMP. Most recently, he won the 2023 U.S. Street Nationals and was the runner-up in 2024 at both the U.S. Street Nationals and Snowbird Outlaw Nationals. He stated on Friday night during qualifying that whenever he runners-up at the Snowbirds, he goes on to win U.S. Street – a prediction that soon became reality.

“It’s just crazy the level of confidence that I have when I come here,” Quartuccio said. “This is a totally different team than when I runnered-up to Mark Micke last year, or the year before that when we won it. It’s a totally different group of guys, different combination, different car, but just something about this place is magic for me. They can bury me in the back here (at BMP). Let them put a house on me. I don’t care. This is where I’m going to rest my final days.” Continue reading

Mark Micke Tops Quickest 32-Car Field in Pro Mod History at Snowbird Outlaw Nationals

BRADENTON, FL – Mark Micke’s reign of qualifying dominance continued Saturday night, as he snatched the No. 1 spot from Ken Quartuccio at the U.S. Street Nationals presented by M&M Transmission. Competing in the second of three races in the inaugural Drag Illustrated Winter Series presented by J&A Service, Micke put everyone on notice with his 3.567-second pass at 219.36 mph in the third and final qualifying session.

Quartuccio predicted his 3.572 from Friday night in M&M Transmission Outlaw Pro Mod presented by FuelTech and PJS Racing wouldn’t hold up through the next morning; but it was good enough until the final few cars of the night, when Micke unleashed his twin-turbo ‘69 Camaro in the cool air at Bradenton Motorsports Park. Matt Deitsch sits on the 32-car bump spot with a 3.655 in his nitrous-fed ‘69 Camaro.

The 32 drivers who qualified in Pro Mod assembled after the field was set to determine first-round pairings through a random chip draw, including marquee matchups between Snowbird Outlaw Nationals winner Kye Kelley and two-time NHRA Pro Mod champion “Stevie Fast” Jackson, as well as a rematch of the 2023 World Series of Pro Mod final round between Spencer Hyde and Kurt Steding. Ken Quartuccio Takes Provisional No. 1 After Only Friday Pro Mod Qualifying Session at U.S. Street Nationals

BRADENTON, FL – Ken Quartuccio followed up his runner-up finish at the Snowbird Outlaw Nationals presented by Motion Raceworks by grabbing the provisional No. 1 spot at the U.S. Street Nationals presented by M&M Transmission. Competing in the second of three races in the inaugural Drag Illustrated Winter Series presented by J&A Service, Quartuccio laid down a blistering 3.572-second pass at 211.36 mph in Friday’s first – and only – qualifying session.

Dropping temperatures forced the cancellation of Friday’s second qualifying session, making Quartuccio’s pass in M&M Transmission Pro Mod presented by FuelTech and PJS Racing all that more important, as he leads a field of nearly 70 Pro Mods. Dmitry Samorukov sits on the 32-car bump spot with a 3.739.

In addition to the headlining Pro Mod class, the U.S. Street Nationals is also the second race of the 2024-25 FuelTech Radial Outlaws Racing Series. Provisional No. 1 qualifiers in the radial classes are Grantley Schloss in PST Driveshafts Pro 275 presented by Pro Line Racing, Matt Bell in Energy Manufacturing Limited Drag Radial presented by Callies Performance, Jeff Miller in Motion Raceworks X275 presented by Precision Turbo & Engine, Shawn Pevlor in TRZ Motorsports Ultra Street presented by Innovative Racecraft, and Jimmy Harris in SP Tools Limited 235 presented by ICE Ignition. DI Winter Series Continues with U.S. Street Nationals at Bradenton Motorsports Park

BRADENTON, FL – After a historic showing at the Snowbird Outlaw Nationals presented by Motion Raceworks, the start of the inaugural Drag Illustrated Winter Series presented by J&A Service, the quickest field in Pro Modified drag racing history will reconvene at Bradenton Motorsports Park, Jan. 23-26, for the U.S. Street Nationals presented by M&M Transmission. Additionally, the U.S. Street Nationals will host the second 2024-25 season event for the FuelTech Radial Outlaw Series. The weekend will also feature competition in several additional classes like Outlaw 632, the fan-favorite N/T No Time Shootout and more.

“We’re excited for the U.S. Street Nationals because we’ve got the heavy hitters that weren’t able to be at the Snowbird Outlaw Nationals,” said Victor Alvarez, track owner and promoter. “Then, on the flip side, many of these teams were just here a couple of months ago for the first event of the DI Winter Series, but they’ve had time to get things refreshened for this second event. You’ll see new cars, new engine combinations, and new parts getting put through the paces this weekend. Fans of Pro Mod, radial racing, and more are in for a show.”

“I thought we raised the bar at the Snowbird Outlaw Nationals, but the U.S. Street Nationals presented by M&M Transmission is set to absolutely obliterate that standard,” said Wes Buck, Drag Illustrated founder and DI Winter Series promoter. “We’re talking about even better conditions than last month, so if the good Lord is willing, we’ve got a flat-out badass drag race in store.” Continue reading
