Battle for MIR’s Top 10 Heating Up
Thursday’s Test N Tune is that last day to earn way into Friday competition
MILLINGTON, TN – Thursday night’s Test N Tune is the last opportunity to earn a spot in the Memphis
International Raceway (MIR) Top 10 before Friday night’s Midnight Madness, where MIR’s ‘King of the Track’ will be crowned during Friday night’s Midnight Madness event.
“There’s going to be $500 and some other great prizes on the line Friday night,” said MIR VP and GM Pam Kendrick. “This is just the start of what we believe will be an exciting Top 10 program in the years to come. In order to be the King of the Track this year, racers not already qualified have to join in and earn a spot on Thursday night.”
Racers who compete in the challenge and rank in the top-10 will receive a one-time free entry in the R.T. Turbines DOT/Street class during the Summit Bracket Racing Series presented by COMP Cams.
In addition, the top-three from Test N Tune, Midnight Madness and Street Warz will receive plaques and passes to the IHRA Summit Racing Equipment World Finals featuring the Nitro Jam Nationals on Oct. 9-10. The overall winner of the MIR Top-10 Challenge will be named “King of the Track” and walk away with $500 in prize money; the remaining nine will receive $50 each.
On Friday night at Midnight Madness, each eligible car that shows will get one qualifying pass to earn their way into the final Top 10. To determine the King of the Track, the top eight cars will be paired up in a pro ladder for head-to-head elimination runs. The last racer standing after three elimination rounds gets the top prize and will be named King of the Track.
Gates for Thursday night’s Test N Tune open at 5:30 with the track live from 6-10 p.m. Admission is $20 to race, $10 to watch and children 12-under are free. On Friday night, gates for Midnight Madness open at 7:30 p.m. and the track will be open from 8 p.m.-1 a.m.
