ATLANTA WIN BY HIGHT PUTS ANOTHER TV IN FAN’S HANDS
COMMERCE, GA – For the fourth time in 2014 Robert Hight drove his Auto Club Ford Mustang into the Winner’s Circle. Hight has
now won three races in a row and extended the JFR finals streak to fourteen races. The Mello Yello points leader defeated Bob Bode, Tim Wilkerson and Ron Capps before outrunning teammate Courtney Force final. With this win, Hight also put a 55” flat screen TV in the hands of Robert Barbati of Yukon, Oklahoma, compliments of BrandSource and the “Win with Force” promotion. This was the fifth TV given away in the first seven races of the season for JFR.
Hight qualified in the No. 3 spot this weekend with a solid 4.030 ET. Rain on Sunday forced eliminations to be contested on Monday but that did not dampen the enthusiasm for Hight’s win streak. Hight talked about how much confidence his team gives him as well as how important this win was no matter who took the Wally.
“(Crew chief) Mike Neff has a calming effect on me, you have a lot of confidence as driver with him out in front of you. He helps me and I think it’s because he was a driver, he knows what I’m facing, the pressure, and he just takes that pressure away from me. Right now, we’re clicking,” said Hight. “She (Courtney Force) has a job to do for Traxxas and I have a job to do for Auto Club. She wouldn’t wanted to win it any other way. I believe that Traxxas car is starting to come around and Courtney’s going to have a shot at it. We’re on roll here and we go to two more races in row and Brittany’s Castrol EDGE car is starting to come around and to be honest, I’d like for Brittany get her first win and it would be the 100th female NHRA pro victory.”
At each NHRA national event when a JFR team qualifies No. 1 a lucky fan that has signed up at the JFR “Win with Force” display located in Nitro Alley will be eligible to win the BrandSource No. 1 Qualifier Award, a front loading washer and dryer set. If a JFR driver wins the event a different fan will win the 55” flat screen TV Winner’s Circle Award from BrandSource.
