LANGDON, DEJORIA PACE TOYOTA IN SEATTLE NHRA QUALIFYING
TORRANCE, CA – Shawn Langdon qualified third in Top Fuel, while Alexis DeJoria was fourth in Funny Car to lead Toyota in
qualifying for Sunday’s NHRA O’Reilly Auto Parts Northwest Nationals at Pacific Raceways in suburban Seattle.
Langdon’s showing marks his 10th top-five qualifying effort of the season in 16 races. The 2013 Top Fuel world champion ran his top pass of the weekend (3.807 seconds) to lead Friday’s first qualifying session, earning him three bonus points.
Richie Crampton was one spot behind Langdon in fourth. The rookie ran one of the top-five quickest passes in each of the four sessions over the weekend. Khalid alBalooshi placed sixth and Antron Brown rounded out the Toyota-sponsored entries in 12th.
DeJoria’s Camry ran in the top three in both of Friday’s sessions on the way to qualifying in the top five for the seventh time this season. The Patron XO Café driver ran a 4.16 or better in three of her four qualifying passes.
Cruz Pedregon qualified eighth, Del Worsham was 10th and Tony Pedregon will start eliminations from the 13th seed in a field where the top-12 cars are separated by less than one one-hundredth of a second.
ESPN2’s qualifications show can be seen tonight at 10 p.m., while Sunday’s Mello Yello Drag Racing Series eliminations will be televised on the network beginning at 7:00 p.m. (all times ET).
