8th Annual Chevrolet Performance LSX Shootout at NMCA World Finals is Right Around the Corner!

Santa Ana, CA – The NMCA and Chevrolet Performance are pleased to present the 8th Annual Chevrolet Performance LSX Shootout, which will once again take place at Lucas Oil Raceway in Indianapolis, Indiana on the weekend of October 9-12, 2014. The event, held in conjunction with the NMCA World Finals, is the largest LS gathering in the country! Featuring awesome heads-up racing for the fastest LS-powered cars in the world, the LSX Shootout also includes index-style and True Street racing for competitors of all levels plus a giant all LS-powered car show. Brought to you by Chevrolet Performance, this is “the” LS event of the year, with over $50,000 in cash and prizes. As the final race of the Chevrolet Performance LSX Challenge Series, this is the event where the 2014 champions will be crowned.

The LSX Shootout begins with an exclusive Chevrolet Performance-sponsored Racer Appreciation Party on Thursday, October 9 from 6:30 to 8:30 pm. This party, which takes place at the Hilton Garden Inn host hotel, will feature great food, drinks and the huge free parts raffle. Racers and crew will not miss this outstanding opening event!

The Shootout’s heads-up classes include JE Pistons Drag Radial, ERL Performance All Motor, and Holley EFI Real Street… all of which are wheels-up and hardcore. This year LME is sponsoring the 5th Gen Camaro Challenge, an index class for new Camaros only. The Shootout also features two classes for mild to wild street-type LS-powered vehicles, Proform Racing LSX Rumble and Gear Vendors LSX True Street. The LSX Rumble class allows racers to pick their index, matching their street machine up against some of the fastest cars in the country.

All racers competing in LSX Rumble and 5th Gen Camaro may also compete, free of charge, in the LSX True Street class on Saturday. Street-legal True Street competitors take part in a 30-mile cruise to prove their street-ability. Then, all of the LS-powered muscle cars, trucks and SUVs head back to the track for a three-run showdown to determine who has the baddest LS-powered street-legal ride in the world! All class winners receive big bucks, an LSX block, and the coveted winner’s jacket courtesy of Chevrolet Performance and their host dealer, Scoggin-Dickey Parts Center.

Chevrolet Performance will also present special cash and prizes to the fastest LS-powered individual makes and models with their World’s Fastest LS Challenge. Who has the world’s fastest Camaro, Firebird, Corvette, GTO, G8, Cadillac, or Truck/SUV? Chevrolet Performance wants to find out and will award each winner $250, a custom LSX Shootout jacket, and a bonus $250 prize if the vehicle has a Chevrolet Performance LSX Bow-Tie block.

The 2014 Chevrolet Performance LSX Shootout will also feature an all-LS car show for enthusiasts who want to show off their awesome muscle cars and hot rods. The LSX Shootout’s special 2-day car show includes awards for 5th Gen Camaros, 4th Gen Camaros/Firebirds, Corvettes, Cadillacs, GTOs, Trailblazers, and LSX hybrids.
