Las Vegas, NV – Johnny Ahten spent the summer fighting wild fires as a Fire Department Captain. Now it’s time to light some. Ahten and his Top Alcohol dragster is looking to set the strip ablaze this weekend at the Big O Tires Nationals at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway.

The last time down the track for the CleanBoost Performance Oil sponsored team was back in May at Bakersfield. Since then, they have been refining their attack. Going back to what they know, Crew Chief Al Ahten has sorted out the fuel system and it’s fine-tuned and ready to rumble.

“It’s looking to be a tough field because they have been running all year,” said Ahten. “It’s like cramming for an exam. We have been looking at our notes and we are playing catch-up, but we’ll be there.”

The National race at LVMS is the start of a three race weekend plan for Johnny Ahten and the team. Crew member Howard Katano is making the trip in from Hawaii, and along with Bob Ahten, Kevin Colvell and Todd Rockwell, they all look forward to the task.

“We are looking forward to running in the heat and we get good wheel speed up,” added Ahten.

Being surrounded by fire all summer long, Johnny Ahten and the CleanBoost look to have some fun and keep the fire in the pipes lit all the way down the quarter-mile.
