Called For Rain

How dissappointing is that? We were poised for a great competition, but the weather is well beyond our control. Hope to see y'all at the next one...

The Blossom Team Enters the Arena

No, these blonde bombshells are not your typical adolescent airheads...

...they are Craig Blossom's "Hired Guns", and each one is a force to be reckoned with!

In addition to the girls, Craig's Grandson, Andrew, campaigns a car with the team.

Meet Another Local Competitor: Brandon

Like many of our Juniors, Brandon is powered by a Blossom racing motor.

Raven is Ready to Rumble for Memphis and Martin

Raven was a finalist in the rained out Memphis event last month. While many of the "Big Teams" would not bat an eye about going to the next event, the Juniors often don't recieve the sponsored funding for their campaigns. To their surprise a benefactor [who shall remain nameless] took money from his own pocket, in the interest of fair play, to cover her fuel to get from Texas to Michigan.

It's that kind of interest that grooms value into these budding racers of tomorrow.

Juniors Appreciate the Opportunities @ ADRL

Eleven year old Brooke competes in the 8.90 bracket. Brooke, shown here with friend and protector "Nitro", is a third generation racer so the need for speed is, no doubt, in her blood.

The teams echo expressions of appreciation for the opportunities and treatment they recieve from the ADRL. Unlike other organizations who view the Juniors as an afterthought..."They treat us like racers", was the prevailing sentiment.

The Junior Team from Texas is Ready to Roll!

I arrived in the Texas pit just as the racing crew took off. But Jake's Dad was pleased to share a little info with me as I strolled around, this evening. These stunning cars run the 7.90 index of the Junior Division of ADRL racing, topping at 72-79 mph in the 1/8th.

Brooke and Raven live just 5 doors from each other...Jake, on the other hand, is 150 miles from both of them. But these friendly competitors have joined to form a Texas alliance that travels together whenever they can get their names on the ADRL list.

The Juniors qualify based on reaction times.

Local Junior: Battle Creek's own "T-Dog", Trevor Wilson makes his debut at Martin ADRL Race!

15 year old Trevor attended the ADRL race here, at Martin, last year. As a veteran Junior Racer, it was an easy decision to come out and challenge the regulars to a Michigan Mash on his own turf. Trevor is no slouch. When I saw him he was loading balast in his proudly polished black machine, in an effort to effectively slow it down. "She'll go 85 mph in the 1/8th." chimed the very personable Trevor.

Trevor aspires to earn a degree in mechanical engineering, following High School, so he can continue his passion for power and speed. Until then, you can tell this young man is just having a BLAST.
