The West Coast Outlaw Pro Mod Association invades Sonoma Raceway this weekend

Sonoma, CA – The last time the West Coast Outlaw Pro Mod Association visited Sonoma Raceway in the Wine Country of Napa Valley in Dan NickelsonCalifornia the Pro Mod drag racing world was turned when veteran doorcar racer Dan Nickelson ran the quickest quarter mile time ever in a suspended doorcar with a blistering 5.706 pass.

This weekend marks the second time this season but third year in a row that the WCOPMA will race at Sonoma Raceway’s NHRA Division 7 drag race. Lots of the West Coast’s heavy hitters will be in attendance and it could mark the first ever 16-car qualified field in the history for the association. Racers like Dan Nickelson, Jay Diedrich, Scott Bailey, Marc Meadors, Scott Oksas, Tim “TK” Krupa, Rod Burbage, Sean Renteria, Dan Myers, Mike Maggio, Andrew Berry, Joe Lepone Jr., Owen Ducker (from Australia), Lee Smith and Rob Moore plan on making this event one to remember.

The weekend starts off with a 12 (noon) to 5pm open test n tune session on Thursday. Friday will be the first qualifying effort scheduled for 3pm. Saturday will host two more qualifying attempts at 12 (noon) and 3pm and IF there are enough cars for a 16-car field the first round of eliminations will be Saturday at 5:30pm. Eliminations for the final 8 cars will wrap up on Sunday starting at 12 (noon).
