The WCOPMA kicks off their 2012 season this weekend in Salt Lake City

Salt Lake City, UT – After a long off season the West Coast Outlaw Pro Mod Association will start racing this weekend at Rocky Mountain Raceway’s in Utah. This will be the first time the WCOPMA has raced at Rocky Mountain Raceways and we couldn’t think of a better place to kick off our 2012 season.

The Jet Car Spring Nationals event will be action packed with seven Jet Cars, eight WCOPMA racers (which include Rod Burbage, Dan Nickelson, Mike Maggio, Joe Lepone Jr., Tom Johanns, Mark Lovell, Perry Thyr and Dan Myers), Jack Harris/Steve Macklyn’s “Nitro Thunder” Nostalgia Fuel Funny Car and Rob Passey’s MSP Top Fuel Dragster.

There will also be many bracket classes including Top Sportsman, Top Dragster, IHRA Box, IHRA No Box, Motorcycle/Snowmobile and Top JR. & Quick JR. dragsters.

The WCOPMA will get three qualifying runs and three elimination rounds. The first qualifying session will be Friday night around 8pm. Saturday will kick off with a qualifying session at noon and the final qualifying session scheduled for 3pm. Elimination rounds for the 8-car field are scheduled for 6pm, 7:30pm and 9pm.
