Spradlin Again Looking Toward Late Season Success

Ranburne, AL – After a three-month summer break the Southeastern Hose backed Top Dragster and Top Sportsman team is ready to get back on the track and finish off the season strong. Casey Spradlin, driver of both entries will complete at the 9th running of the NHRA Carolina Nationals at the beautiful Zmax Dragway in Charlotte, NC which will coincidentally start on his birthday Friday September 16.

Taking a summer break to relax and reload has historically been good to the three-time Southeast division champion team. In each of their championship seasons, they have entered the last race of the season trailing the points leader only to outlast them on the track and steal the accolades.

“I don’t know if it’s the tracks we go to or if it’s just that we know we are running out of claims and we need to step it up,” Spradlin reflects on the late season successes. “Whatever it is, I hope this season follows suit and we grab a win or two to propel us higher in both the National and divisional points standing.”

The Lucas Oil/NGK Spark Plugs supported team’s season highlights include a NHRA Mello Yello and Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series final round appearance in Top Dragster. Spradlin is eager to get back to both Zmax Dragway, which was the site of the most recent final round in which he trailed Angie Travis at the finish line stripe by less than one inch, and Silver Dollar Raceway where he has been to 4 finals including a win in Top Sportsman last season. “Heading back to any place where I have been blessed to make it to the final round gives me a little added confidence. We left just a little on the table at Zmax and we are going back to get it,” charges Spradlin.
