Grand Bend, ON – The Canadian Victoria Day Holiday Weekend will see the first big show of 2012 hit Grand Bend Motorplex May 18-20!
5 Second Funny Cars Return To Canada! — The National Drag Racing Association brings 5 second Funny Cars back to Canada for the May long weekend!
“The NDRA Alcohol Funny Car Series presented by Ohsweken Speedway will present the best of the popular Alcohol Funny Car class, and the inaugural event marks a return to the traditional, qualify on Saturday, race on Sunday format that South-Western Ontario drag racing fans haven’t experienced in nearly five years”, stated Dale Boeru, Director of Operations for NDRA.
“With a strong contingent of race cars slated to take their shot at winning the first race in series history, the main objective for series organizers is to have a successful first outing, while keeping their eyes on the future growth of the series, including the addition of several teams that plan to join the series at future events”, continued Boeru.
Pro Doorslammers Debut New Machines From 2 Countries! — “We’ve got some incredible 6 second quarter-mile drag racing in store for fans, just like it was a few years back.” explains HURA Pro Doorslammer front man Dave Earhart. “We’ve added new members under our new Pro Doorslammers moniker and our rules ensure exciting side by side fast doorslammer drag racing!”

The Camera’s Will be Rolling! – Keep your eyes peeled at the event for the TV crew of Motorhead Traveler. They will be filming as “the” Motorhead Traveler Kevin Cullen experiences his first taste of Drag Racing from the ground up including Drag Racing School hosted by Derkzen Motorsports. Watch for this program on MAV TV in the USA and on Canada Travel and Escape in Canada.
Plus lots more fast cars to entertain the whole family!
