Greer Dragway Captures IHRA Division 9 Summit Team Finals

HARTSVILLE, SC – Greer Dragway captured the International Hot Rod Association (IHRA) Division 9 (Raiders) Summit Team Finals.

Greer Dragway won by a 59-52 margin over host track Darlington Dragway with Farmington Dragway finishing in third with 43 points.  Other tracks that participated were: Coastal Plains Dragway, Elk Creek Dragway, Union Dragway, Ware Shoals Dragway, Pageland Dragway and South Carolina Motorplex.

In an all Greer Dragway final, Joe Gary from Boiling Springs, S.C., took home with win with a 4.433 second pass at 155.49 mph against a 4.44 dial-in with a .045 reaction time. Kevin Brannon from Boiling Springs, S.C., finished with a 4.428 second pass at 152.91 mph with a 4.44 dial-in and a .119 reaction time.

Mod

Jeff Flood from Mocksville, N.C., representing Farmington Dragway was the victor with a 6.011-second run at 115.24 mph against a 6.02 dial-in and a .101 reaction time. Travis Peake from Elgin, S.C. representing host track Darlington Dragway was -.020 too quick at the start before going down the track with a 5.942-second pass at 115.09 mph.

Sportsman

It was an all Greer Dragway Sportsman final with Cody Spear from Mount Carmel, Tenn., taking home the win with a 9.333-second pass at 67.77 mph against a 9.31 dial-in and a .060 reaction time.  James Philbeck from Grover, N.C., was the runner-up with a 11.045-second run at 60.75 mph against a 11.03 reaction time and a .023 reaction time.

Junior Dragster

In an all Elk Creek Dragway final, Brandon Sullivan from Radford, Va., scored the win with a 7.970-second run at 79.96 mph against a 7.97 dial-in with a .070 reaction time. Slade Kincer was runner-up with a 7.939-second run at 80.86 mph against a 7.95 dial-in and a .472 reaction time.
