Dalrymple, Warr, and Borges win Postponed Rocky Mountain Raceway Event

LAS VEGAS – The postponed Pacific Division, Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series event from Rocky Mountain Raceways was concluded yesterday at The Strip at Las Vegas Motor Speedway in Las Vegas. Michael Dalrymple, Bryan, Warr, and Chris Borges celebrated with their teams in winner’s circle.

Dalrymple, Sunnyside, Wash., cut a great light (.010 second), running 10.060 seconds, 156.66 mph to outpace Casey Plaizier, Edmonton, Alb., for the Super Gas divisional event Wally trophy. Plaizier ran 10.067 seconds, 142.49 mph.

Utah racer, Warr of Riverton, ran 7.111 seconds, 191.35 mph to edge out John Tiegen, Grand Praririe, Alb., 7.406 seconds, 180.50mph; in a competitive Top Sportsman final round.

In the Super Street final round, Chris Borges of Roseville, Calif., took a slight lead off the starting line; racing to victory at 11.057 seconds, 131.02 mph. Josh Dalrymple, Sunnyside, Wash., was unable to meet his brother Michael in the winner’s circle, as he broke out attempting to chase down Borges running 11.024 seconds, 148.72 mph.

The following are final results from the postponed NHRA Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series, Pacific Division 2nd event at Rocky Mountain Raceway that concluded at Las Vegas Motor Speedway:

TOP SPORTSMAN

Bryan Warr, Riverton, Utah, ’04 Corvette, 7.111, 191.35 def. John Tiegen, Grand Praririe, Alb., ’11 Cobalt, 7.406, 180.50.

SUPER STREET

Chris Borges, Roseville, Calif., ’69 Chevelle, 11.057, 131.02 def. Josh Dalrymple, Sunnyside, Wash., ’67 Camaro, 11.024, 148.72.
