Lizzy Musi’s First Street Outlaws: No Prep Kings Win Airing Tonight on Discovery
MOORESVILLE, NC — Second-generation drag racing star Lizzy Musi made history back in May when she became 
the first woman to record a Street Outlaws: No Prep Kings win. Piloting her Pat Musi-powered, Edelbrock-backed “Aftershock” Camaro, she defeated her boyfriend and fellow Street Outlaws standout Kye Kelley in the final round at New England Dragway in Epping, NH.
As big as the individual win was, it ignited an unprecedented streak of three consecutive victories for Lizzy during her stellar 2019 campaign.
Now, the rest of the world will have the chance to watch Musi’s performance as the episode of Discovery’s hit TV show filmed during the event will air tonight at 9 PM Eastern.
Lizzy Musi Records Quickest Run in Pro Nitrous History at PDRA Fall Nationals
DARLINGTON, SC — It was a record-setting weekend for Lizzy Musi and the Musi Racing team in Darlington, as the 
Pro Nitrous star raised the bar for performance in the class at the Professional Drag Racers Association (PDRA) Fall Nationals at Darlington Dragway.
Musi, who already held the speed record of 209.23 mph in the class, put a complete stamp on the quickest and fastest marks in Pro Nitrous thanks to her record-setting pass of 3.615-seconds at 208.62 mph on Saturday in the Frank Brandao-owned Edelbrock/Lucas Oil “King Kong 7” 2018 Dodge Dart. If the conditions presented themselves, a new record was the goal and Musi accomplished it in style.
After qualifying fourth, Musi opened eliminations with a 3.637 at 207.95 mph. She put together the record-breaking pass of 3.615 a round later, following it up with a pass of 3.618 at 208.72 mph in the semifinals to back up the record. After an up-and-down season, setting the new E.T. mark was a definite highlight as the conclusion of the season nears.
Pat Musi Racing Engines Adding Wins, Records and New Customers
MOORESVILLE, NC — The string of success has continued at Pat Musi Racing Engines and it’s not slowing down 
anytime soon. In fact, the incredible year by customers across a variety of classes and series has only increased the workload for Musi and his standout team at their Mooresville, NC location.
There has been a steady flow of standout performances by Musi customers, with new accomplishments coming rapidly. There were a number of noteworthy runs last weekend, including world records set by Dean Marinis, Lizzy Musi and Wes Distefano. Those performances come on the heels of a victory from three-time NHRA Pro Mod world champ Rickie Smith, who picked up the win at the NHRA event in St. Louis.
Musi also picked up a number of new and returning customers heading into the offseason, furthering the notion that nitrous racing is alive and well.
Musi Racing Sets Sights on Strong Finish at PDRA Fall Nationals
DARLINGTON, SC — With the PDRA Drag Wars cancelled in September due to Hurricane Dorian, it’s been nearly 
two months since Musi Racing last competed in the Professional Drag Racers Association (PDRA).
It also leaves just two more races in the 2019 season and there’s plenty the team wants to accomplish in the Pro Nitrous class, starting at this weekend’s PDRA Fall Nationals at Darlington Dragway.
After an up-and-down season that’s included a fair share of highlights but no victories yet, Lizzy Musi and her team are ready to end the year on a high note in the Frank Brandao-owned Edelbrock/Lucas Oil “King Kong 7” 2018 Dodge Dart.
“We’re going to go out and try to have a strong finish,” Pat Musi said. “We’ve struggled a little bit at times during the year, but the car is fast and Lizzy is driving well. We tested real well in Virginia and we’re pretty happy about what we were able to do there. She’s driving well and has a lot of runs under her belt, and we’re excited to see what we can do.”
Records Fall as Pat Musi Racing Engines Enjoys Another Banner Weekend
MOORESVILLE, NC — No stranger to their customers putting together record-setting performances, Pat Musi 
Racing Engines raised the bar yet again last weekend.
During the Shakedown Nationals at Virginia Motorsports Park, Marcus Birt fired off one remarkable run after another in his Musi-powered nitrous Corvette, adding a slew of record performances in Radial vs. the World. It started with the quickest nitrous run in history when Birt went 3.579-seconds at 206.29 mph, and soon turned into the quickest run in RvW history after his monumental pass of 3.575 at 206.10 mph.
To end the weekend, Birt faced off with teammate and tuner Stevie “Fast” Jackson in the final round, and the duo delivered the quickest side-by-side run in RvW history. Birt finished as runner-up after going red, running an outstanding 3.58 at 205.19 mph to cap a weekend of consistently quick performances.
“It was a tremendous weekend for our customers and I was happy to see Marcus and his team put together a performance like that,” Musi said. “Stevie has done a really good job tuning that car and it’s been exciting to watch how quickly they’ve made improvements. Overall, it’s great for us to work with customers who try to push the envelope and it continues to show we have engines capable of setting and resetting our own records.”
PDRA Pro Nitrous Star Tommy Franklin Has High Praise for Pat Musi Racing Engines After Latest Win
MOORESVILLE, NC — When Tommy Franklin raced to the Pro Nitrous win at the most recent Professional Drag 
Racers Association (PDRA) event in Ohio, he did so by going an impressive 3.69 at 204.36 MPH in the final round.
But he also did so in weather conditions that weren’t exactly conducive to fast performances. Franklin, though, credited the work of Pat Musi Racing Engines, who continue to set the bar in the class when it comes to performance and success.
“It’s just a testament to what Pat’s doing over there,” Franklin said. “We ran that 3.69 at a density altitude of almost 4,000 feet. I had no inkling it would go that fast. It was making a ton of power. I’m really excited to see what we can do when we get killer air and really good weather for the next three races.”
Lizzy Musi Suffers Early Exit, but Pat Musi Racing Engines Still Finds Success in Ohio
WEST SALEM, OH — Facing hot-weather racing conditions all weekend long at Dragway 42, the Musi Racing team 
couldn’t find their footing at the Professional Drag Racers Association (PDRA) inaugural Northern Nationals in West Salem, Ohio.
Lizzy Musi suffered a close first-round loss in Pro Nitrous driving the Frank Brandao-owned Edelbrock/Lucas Oil “King Kong 7” 2018 Dodge Dart. Racing Todd Fontana in the opening round, both drivers ran into trouble, but Musi couldn’t quite track him down, running 4.656-seconds at 147.40 mph to Fontana’s 4.561 at 163.22.
It proved to be a frustrating weekend for Musi, who qualified eighth with a run of 3.776 at 202.07. After three straight victories on the Street Outlaws: No Prep Kings circuit, Musi is still searching for her first victory of the 2019 PDRA season through five races. However, the team remains determined to make it happen over the final three events of the 2019 campaign.
Musi Racing Promises to Come Out Swinging at PDRA Northern Nationals
WEST SALEM, OH — In a year filled with challenging weather conditions on the Professional Drag Racers 
Association (PDRA) circuit, Lizzy Musi and the Musi Racing team will face that challenge once again, as sweltering heat is expected at this weekend’s Inaugural Northern Nationals at Dragway 42 in West Salem, Ohio.
Pat Musi promises they won’t be holding anything back in the Frank Brandao-owned Edelbrock/Lucas Oil “King Kong 7” 2018 Dodge Dart. In fact, he may turn things up even more on the Pro Nitrous car as Lizzy seeks her first win of the 2019 PDRA season.
“We’ve had some bad breaks this year, but I’m throwing the kitchen sink at it now,” Pat Musi said. “Whoever gets beside the Dart better be ready. There’s no babying around, we’re going to go for the throat now. Lizzy deserves a win and has raced well enough to get one, so we’re going to be on it now.”
Pat Musi Racing Engines Enjoys All-Musi Pro Nitrous Final Round at PDRA Summer Nationals
MOORESVILLE, NC — Pat Musi Racing Engines continued their impressive reign over the Pro Nitrous class in the 
Professional Drag Racers Association (PDRA), summed up by their customers’ dominant performances at last weekend’s PDRA Summer Nationals Ignited by Lithium Pro Batteries at South Georgia Motorsports Park.
Pro Nitrous finalists Jason Harris and Tommy Franklin are both Pat Musi Racing Engines customers, and each showcased Musi power as they reached the final round in Valdosta. Harris, the defending world champion, took the win in the Boone Racing entry against Franklin in what was a challenging weekend for all competitors.
In his runner-up effort, Franklin put together a strong day in eliminations, posting a stunning 3.653 elapsed time at 207.94 MPH in the first round, a run that was the quickest of the weekend. He provided the second-best run of the event a round later with his pass of 3.685 at 207.27 MPH.
Despite Strong Run, Musi Dealt an Early Exit at PDRA Summer Nationals
CECIL, GA — Sometimes it’s just not your weekend, which seemed to sum things up for Musi Racing at the rain-
soaked Professional Drag Racers Association (PDRA) Summer Nationals Ignited by Lithium Batteries at South Georgia Motorsports Park.
Despite a strong run of 3.700-seconds at 207.18 mph in the Frank Brandao-owned Edelbrock/Lucas Oil “King Kong 7” 2018 Dodge Dart, Lizzy Musi fell in a close first-round matchup in Pro Nitrous against Tommy Franklin. He went 3.653 at 207.94, which was the quickest run of a race that stretched to three days because of inclement weather.
After qualifying seventh with a 3.845 at 203.74, Musi and the rest of the field raced in more ideal conditions during eliminations on Sunday. Musi’s run would have topped anyone else during first-round action and all but one other run of eliminations, but it wasn’t enough against Franklin as she fell to sixth in points.
It also snapped her streak of three straight final round visits – counting her back-to-back wins in Street Outlaws: No Prep Kings – but Pat Musi remains confident.
