IHRA, Moser Engineering Announce Partnership Extension
WEST PALM BEACH, FL — The International Hot Rod Association (IHRA) and Moser Engineering announce a 
partnership extension that will see Moser Engineering support the IHRA Summit Sportsman Spectacular, IHRA Summit Team Finals and IHRA Summit SuperSeries World Finals events.
As part of the partnership, Moser Engineering will continue their sponsorship of one of the two days at each Summit Sportsman Spectacular event. Moser will be the title sponsor of the Saturday night gamblers races at each of the Summit Team Finals.
Additionally, Moser becomes the sponsor of the Friday night gamblers races at the Summit SuperSereies World Finals. During each Moser sponsored event, sportsman racers will have the opportunity to win bonus prizes and awards during the “Moser Money Round.”
NHRA SOUTHEAST DIVISION MOSER SPORTSMAN SHOOTOUT TO HIGHLIGHT SATURDAY’S ACTION AT ROCKINGHAM DRAGWAY
The Southeast Division Moser Sportsman Shootout will highlight Saturday’s racing action at this weekend’s Lucas 
Oil Drag Racing Series at Rockingham Dragway.
The field of 16 drivers was set through a year-long point’s battle and a year-end wild card drawing. The event presents a unique match of NHRA sportsman racers in Super Stock, Stock, Super Comp, Super Gas, Super Street, Top Dragster and Top Sportsman in head-to-head competition to see who really is the best of the best.
Kevin Brannon and Rusty Cook are both pulling double duty as they are each qualified in two different classes. Brannon will run in Top Dragster, facing off with Casey Spradlin in round one, and will meet up with Cook in round one of Super Comp. Cook is also qualified in Super Gas where he will meet up with John Taylor in round one
MORRIS WINS NHRA MOSER SPORTSMAN SHOOTOUT
BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – T.C. Morris took home the NHRA Moser Sportsman Shootout trophy defeating Devin Isenhower in a great final round match up at Beech Bend Raceway Park in Bowling Green, Ky. Mia Tedesco and Doug Gordon qualified number one in Top Alcohol Dragster and Funny Car to lead their fields going into Sunday’s eliminations.
Morris, New Haven, Ky., took a slight advantage off the line with a .010 second hole shot lead and ran his ’04 GTO to a 6.897 second lap on a 6.87 second dial to hold on for the win. Isenhower, Lebanon, Ind., was right on his heels at 6.952 seconds on a 6.93 dial in his ’67 Camaro. Morris was on his game all day taking out Aaron Allison in round one with a near perfect .004 second reaction time followed by a perfect .000 second reaction time to down Jeff Dona in round two and a .008 in his semifinal match up with Larry Hodge to advance to the final.
ELROD LOOKS TO DEFEND MOSER SPORTSMAN SHOOTOUT TITLE
BOWLING GREEN, KY – The NHRA North Central Division Moser Sportsman Shootout is set to take place on Saturday, August 26, in conjunction with the NHRA Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series event at Beech Bend Raceway Park, Bowling Green, Ky. Jacob Elrod is looking to defend his title from a year ago having qualified in two classes.
Elrod out of Harrod, Ohio, captured the 2016 Moser Sportsman Shootout with a win over Mark McDonald who is also qualified again this year in the Top Sportsman class. Elrod returns this year in both the Super Gas and Super Comp classes. Elrod will face off with Devin Isenhower in his round one Super Gas match up and Joe Fuesting in round one Super Comp.
CUMMINGS WINS MOSER SPORTSMAN SHOOTOUT AT MOTORPLEX
ENNIS, TX – Slate Cummings, Hammond, La., took home the win in the NHRA Moser Sportsman Shootout at Texas Motorplex and the NHRA Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series.
Cummings worked his way through the 16-car field made up of drivers in seven different NHRA classes, knocking out Christopher Dodd, Double Oak, Texas, in the final with a time of 5.946 seconds in his Moser Engineering sponsored ’03 Cavalier. Cummings took a nice starting line advantage and it was over after that as the quicker Dodd could not make up the difference as Cummings took the win and the $5,000 purse from Moser Engineering. Cummings had excellent reaction times throughout eliminations beating Jacob Pit, Austin Williams and defending Moser Shootout Champion Ray Dew on his way to the final.
DEW LOOKS TO REPEAT IN MOSER SPORTSMAN SHOOTOUT
Ennis, TX – The NHRA South Central Division Moser Sportsman Shootout is set to take place on Saturday, April 29, in conjunction with the NHRA Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series event at Texas Motorplex.
Through a season long point’s battle in 2016, the top two Moser Sportsman Shootout point’s earners in each of the seven classes in competition were slotted into the 16-car field while John Garner and Jessica Ogden will complete the ladder as the Moser Shootout Wild Card entries.
Ray Dew out of League City, Texas, captured the 2016 Moser Sportsman Shootout with a win over Steve Collier, and will look to defend his title as he is qualified in the Super Street class for the 2017 competition. To do so, Dew will need to get past 2014 Lucas Oil Stock National Champion Austin Williams who is qualifying in both Stock and Super Comp, along with former Moser Shootout Champion Slate Cummings who once again qualified for the elusive field in Super Stock.
