Titan Motorsports Wins Inaugural A90 Supra Class at FL2K19

Bradenton, FL – Team Titan headed to FL2K to race in the A90 class, with Gary White unavailable to pilot our Copper Supra that weekend we decided to bring out one of our new A90 Supra in its place.  Adil Adams, one of our lead technicians stepped up to the plate to race in the inaugural A90/MKV Supra class.  Adil qualified 4th place in the very tight class with just a few tenths separating the entire field.

First round Adil, beat professional driver Loan Prayoonto with a 10.7 @ 128.  Following with a Bye in the following round, Adil made a complete pass at 10.7 to win lane choice and prepared for the final round.  Knowing he was up against a consistent competitor in the final, Adil said “With this close of a matchup, I’ve got to tree her to make sure we got a shot at winning”.   That is exactly what happened leaving .047 earlier then the opponent, Adil crossed the stripe ahead, winning on a hole shot win with a 10.731 to a 10.712.

We’re looking forward to additional development on the new A90 Supra, we’ve purchased 2 house R&D cars which we will be testing and competition with at events in the near future in addition to our existing race program. If you’d like to get involved or have parts that you would like to see tested or developed for this platform, email nero@titanmotorsports.com

Titan Motorsports Qualifies for the 2019 Sweet 16 X275 Drag Radial Race

The Titan Motorsports race team traveled to South Georgia Motorsports Park in Valdosta Georgia for Duck X Productions Sweet 16 drag radial race. With just 2 classes and big paydays for the winners, this race brings out the who’s who of Drag Radial and grudge racers from around the country. We entered our Titan Motorsports Copper Supra in the X275 class along with 82 other entrants, all attempting to qualify in the top 16 to get their chance at the $50,000 purse.

Prior to TX2K we had done some X275 testing at Orlando Speedworld Dragway and managed a 4.35 @ 172, which would have put us solidly into the front half of last year’s event with a shot at winning the event. Having not entered an X275 race, we took our testing confidence and secured a second hand spot to the sold-out race and sent the car straight from TX2K in Houston to Valdosta for the race. It was a quick turn around with back to back weekend race events but we’ve got one of the best teams in the business and they wanted to show the V8 and domestic racers that our Titan 2JZ powerplant could compete.

The vehicle has had many transformations, from switching to FuelTech for engine management and data acquisition, to changing to a 9” rear differential housing provided by Strange Engineering. TITAN MOTORSPORTS – EKANOO RACING OUTLAW FT-86 WORLDS QUICKEST AND FASTESTS IMPORT

It’s been slightly less than a year since the Titan Motorsports built E Kanoo Racing Supra made history becoming the Titan Motorsportsfirst import in the world to crack the 5 Second zone running a 5.972 @ 240mph. In that time period the legendary Supra was retired as the competition here in the states begin their own quest for the 5s and a new world record. In the Bahrain off-season the E Kanoo Racing team worked tirelessly building a new Pro Mod style Full Chassis FT-86 with the latest technology and less weight, making it closer to the full chassis cars being run by their competition.

With less than 5 full passes since competition, veteran driver Gary White piloted the car to a 5.774 at 247MPH pass, nearly 2 tenths quicker and 7MPH quicker than the previous record setting pass. As if the time slip wasn’t impressive in it’s own right, it becomes even more mind boggling that the engine powering it into the record books was still using the OEM Toyota 2JZ Iron Block and Cylinder head castings. The record was backed up with 2 more solid passes deep in the 5.80s with the trap speeds eventually reaching 249MPH.
