VANDERGRIFF CLAIMS FIRST NO. 1 QUALIFIER; LANGDON, ANDERSON LEAD THEIR CLASSES AT NHRA NEW ENGLAND NATIONALS
EPPING, NH — Jordan Vandergriff topped his own John Force Racing teammate Alexis DeJoria to claim the No. 1 qualifier in Funny Car on Saturday at the NHRA New England Nationals presented by bproauto at New England Dragway, while Shawn Langdon and Greg Anderson held their positions atop the Top Fuel and Pro Stock ladders heading into Sunday’s eliminations at Race 8 of the 2026 NHRA Mission Foods Drag Racing Series.
Vandergriff secured his first No. 1 qualifier of the season when he posted a 3.913-second pass at 323.58 mph in his Cornwell Tools Chevrolet SS Funny Car, unseating DeJoria from the top spot in the process. The No. 1 qualifier position gives Vandergriff a favorable first-round matchup as he chases his first victory at New England Dragway and second win of the 2026 season.
In Top Fuel, Shawn Langdon maintained the No. 1 qualifying position heading into Sunday’s eliminations, keeping Kalitta Motorsports at the top of the field. Greg Anderson likewise retained the No. 1 spot in Pro Stock, giving the veteran driver the top qualifying position as the class heads into Sunday’s elimination ladder.
Eliminations for the NHRA New England Nationals presented by bproauto are set for Sunday at New England Dragway in Epping, N.H.
