Robertson Wins for Team Aeroquip at Rossler/DeCerbo Door Wars

Norwalk, OH (August 17, 2009) – Todd Robertson and his Eaton/Aeroquip team have quickly become a force to recon with on the mid-west Pro Mod scene. In Robertson’s last 9 outings he has compiled an impressive list of stats consisting of three number one qualifiers along with three runner-ups and three wins, including this weekend’s at the Summit Raceway Park’s Rossler/DeCerbo Door Wars.

Robertson knows drag racing is by no means a one-man sport and while the driver gets most of the glory he understands that there are many contributors to his race team’s success. “With all the hard work from our crew and the support & efforts from everyone at Eaton/Aeroquip we couldn’t be happier,” said Robertson.

Crew chief Dennis Kolomyjec echoed Robertson’s sentiments.  “The support we receive from both Scott Krueger and Mike Rasnick, of Eaton, has helped our team jell together and become force in our sport! Without those two guys I don’t know where we’d be,” said Kolomyjec.

Robertson’s trip to the winner’s circle began with the Robertson qualifying his Team Aeroquip Cobalt in the number two position with a 4.08 elapsed time at just over 177 miles per hour. When the number one qualifier was unable to make the call for eliminations Robertson was vaulted into the number one spot pairing him with the Rossler Transmissions backed entry of Carl Rossler. Rossler handed the win to Robertson at the tree when Rossler turned on the Red light.

The win over Rossler put Robertson and his supercharged Cobalt up against the nitrous assisted Camaro of John DeCerbo. In what quickly turned into a driver’s race when both cars lost traction; Robertson bested DeCerbo with a 4.32 to DeCerbo’s 4.34 placing Robertson in his second final in as many races.

In the final Robertson was paired with the machine of Mark Malicut. Robertson took this one from start to finish beginning with a .096 reaction time to Malicut’s lethargic .235 and stretching it out to a 4.09 at 177.9 to take the win.

Next up for the Harrison Twp, Michigan based team of Robertson will be a September fourth trip to their home track, Milan Dragway in Milan, Michigan, for another round of the Aeroquip Performance Products Friday Night Heads Up Series.
