Racers Competed for Nearly $50,000 in Lucas Oil Super 64 in Norwalk

Norwalk, OH – Edelbrock Super Series racers were in fine form for the Lucas Oil Super 64 presented by American Race Cars on Aug. 6, 2021 at Summit Motorsports Park in Norwalk, Ohio.

The race, which was held on the eve of the park’s sold-out Kelly Night Under Fire, featured the top sixteen racers in Edelbrock Super Pro, Edelbrock Pro, Edelbrock Sportsman Delivered on Time by TFC Transportation and Wiseco/Cycle Tech Super Bike.

On the line for winners was $10,000 each, with the rest of the racers receiving a share of the nearly $50,000 purse.

In Edelbrock Super Pro, Dave Paone won with an .011 reaction time and a 4.67 dial in his dragster against Steve Halowiecki.

“The competition in Edelbrock Super Pro is very tough, and this is my first time winning the Super 64,” said Paone. “I can’t say enough good things about the experience right now. It was great.”

In Edelbrock Pro, Mike Kelley collected the win with an .033 reaction time and a 6.26 dial in his Mustang against Jaeden Durst.

“This has been a long time coming, and feels especially good after burning up my cylinder heads on my small-block Ford recently,” said Kelley. “This is officially my best year of racing ever.”

Wiseco/Cycle Tech Super Bike saw rider Craig Adams cruise to the win with an .025 reaction time and a 7.82 dial on his Suzuki Hayabusa against Clayton McGowan.

“I was racing with my best friends in the world, and they are all amazing,” said Adams. “We’re a close-knit group, and to accomplish this among all of them made it even better.”

In Edelbrock Sportsman Delivered on Time by TFC Transportation, Larry Strohscher secured the win with an .012 reaction time and a 12.05 dial in his Chevy II against Greg Klein.

“The competition in Edelbrock Sportsman Delivered on Time by TFC Transportation is stellar, and I was fortunate to be able to pull this win off,” said Strohscher. “Any one of the racers taking part in this race could have won.”
