Street Car Super Nationals X………. Another Record Shattering Event!!
Las Vegas, NV – It wasn’t just teased; it was GUARANTEED that Street Car Super Nationals X Presented by Chris Alston’s Chassisworks would shatter records and the Pacific Street Car Association delivered. In a weekend that saw Turky al Zafari double up by winning the Outlaw Pro Mod title here after taking the Anarchy at the Arch championship in August, class records fell early and often.
The Strip at Las Vegas Motor Speedway was prepared masterfully by the track’s staff with the starting line manned by the NHRA’s Chief Starter Mark Lyle under near-perfect weather conditions. Larry Larson took the record for fastest-ever street car Thursday night and improved on that pass repeatedly until Sunday when he hit a Mind Blowing 5.950. In ProCharger Pro Radial, Roger Holder, always fast, not only won the event but took the title of fastest/quickest ever on a Drag Radial Tire with a monster ET of 6.127 at 245.54 mph.
It’s ON: Champ v. Champ at SCSN
In one lane, it’s five-time Hot Rod Drag Week champion Larry Larson in his brand new Twin Turbo Big Block Pro Mod S-10. In the other, 2014 Drag Week Champion Jeff Lutz in his world famous “Evil Twin” 1957 Matte Black Chevy. Both of these massive hot roads will be entered into the SCSN’s Outlaw Pro Mod Class, but race officials, led by NHRA’s Chief Starter Mark Lyle, will make sure they line up during all qualifying rounds, giving fans four chances of seeing these amazing street cars that just completed the grueling week-long 1300-mile contest.
Street Car Super Nats Returns to Gateway May 2015
LAS VEGAS – On the heels of a record-shattering race that has been the bread and butter for the Pacific Street Car Association’s Street Car Super Nationals event, PSCA President Mel Roth and Gateway Motorsports Park Executive Vice President and General Manager Chris Blair have announced “Anarchy at the Arch” is returning to the facility May 28-30, 2015.
After a tug-of-war all weekend for the doorslammer ET record, Q80 Racing’s Turky Al Zafiri left the St. Louis-area track with the honors after laying down a 5.462-second pass. The runner-up, Frankie “The Madman” Taylor, had also held the record a couple times over the weekend and, based on his second-place run in the .40s, he is still part of the quickest side-by-side doorslammer drag race in motorsports history.
“Anarchy Under the Arch” Starts This Wednesday
“We’re pretty stoked about this,” he said. “It’s widely accepted that St. Louis is easily one of the best markets for door-slammer racing and we’re excited to be added to that storied history. We’re expecting a great crowd of both racers and fans.” The event kicks off with a 6 hour test session on Weds evening topped off by our 1st Pro Line Racing/Precision Turbo Pro Mod Shootout “Fastest & Quickest” Pass for Cash at 11pm
