McLeod Racing Set to Sponsor Orlando Speed Word and South Georgia Motorsports Park for 2023 season
ANAHEIM, CA – McLeod Racing enters a full year commitment with Orlando Speed World and South Georgia Motorsports Park to continue 
support for the drag racing community. McLeod Racing is the leader in performance engineered driveline components. Both tracks are scheduled for a full summer of drag racing across all categories. McLeod continues to innovate to provide the most state of the art clutches and driveline components to keep the racers safe and propel them to win.
Orlando Speed World is located in the heart of the import drag racing market, a huge push for McLeod Racing in 2023. With the acquisition of Powertrain Technology, McLeod now offers small diameter multi-disc 4.5” to 7.25” clutches and kits. Throughout the season, McLeod will be represented at the track with our import specialist, champion drag racer Lisa Kubo. With the strong connection that Kubo has with the import community, McLeod continues to find a home at Orlando Speed World and among all the teams.

McLeod Racing extends partnership with FWD Champion Ricky Silva
Anaheim, CA – McLeod Racing announces contract extension with import drag racer Ricky Silva and CLM Motorsports. Silva is set to make 
his season debut at the Xtreme Front Wheel Drive Challenge which will be held at Bradenton Motorsports Park during the Drag Illustrated World Series of Pro Mod Race March 3-5, 2023. With the acquisition of PowerTrain Technologies, McLeod Racing is able to provide a new line of smaller diameter clutch kits for racers like Silva.
Returning with the 1997 Honda Civic, Silva will feature a new 7.25” triple disc clutch from McLeod Racing. The lightweight line of these smaller diameter clutches provides great linear engagement and friction life with a positive feel.
“We are excited to kick off the 2023 season on the big WSOPM stage,” says Silva. “Having McLeod Racing on board with us once again will make it that much better. We’ve been working on some new products with them and we can’t wait to show our fans and customers.”
As McLeod moves into its third year working with Silva and CLM Motorsports, the company continues to broaden the applications dedicated specifically to import drag racing.
Wharton Automotive Group Acquires PowerTrain Technology
ANAHEIM, CA – Paul Lee, President of the Wharton Automotive Group continues to grow his portfolio with the acquisition of the small 
diameter racing clutch and drivetrain component line of PowerTrain Technology (PTT) of Algonquin, IL. PTT has a two-decade record of putting drivers in the winners’ circle with reliable cutting edge racing clutch and drivetrain products.
PTT will be relocating to McLeod Racing’s facility in Anaheim, CA and the products will be available through McLeod Racing and their worldwide distribution network.
PTT’s line of lightweight racing clutches are available in 4.5”, 5.5” and 7.25” diameters in 1, 2, 3, or 4 disc configurations. They feature great linear engagement and friction life with a positive feel. All PTT products are designed on the latest CAD system and PTT has in-house capabilities that allow a wide range of clutch and drivetrain system development.
Summit Racing Equipment Named Dealer of the Race for McLeod Racing
NORWALK, OH – Summit Racing Equipment will be the Dealer of the Race for McLeod Racing for the NHRA Summit Racing Equipment 
Nationals in Norwalk, OH this weekend. Customers can save money on McLeod products purchased through Summit from from June 19 to June 28. The sale includes McLeod’s single disc clutch kits, twin disc clutch kits, steel and aluminum flywheels.
To promote the sale, McLeod’s President Paul Lee will have his nitro funny car branded with Mcleod and Summit at this weekend’s race. Krista Baldwin will also have the co-branding on her Top Fuel dragster.

Lisa Kubo Joins McLeod Racing as Director of Sport Compact Sales
ANAHEIM, CA – Import racing star and industry veteran, Lisa Kubo, will join the McLeod Racing family as the Director of Sport Compact 
Sales. For over 27 years, Kubo has lived and breathed the sport compact lifestyle so it only made sense to bring her on board with McLeod Racing.
Lisa Kubo, the first sport compact FWD driver to break into the seven-second zone, has an immense background in the sport compact world. As a professional drag racer of 12 years, Kubo brings a world of knowledge and connections to help grow and strengthen the McLeod Tuner Series line. And to be part of her journey as she re-emerges on to the scene, McLeod sees the opportunity to grow with race teams and engineers to bring the best products on the market.

McLeod Racing Announces Partnership with Import Drag Race Champion Ricky Silva
ANAHEIM, CA – McLeod Racing announces partnership with Import Drag Racer Ricky Silva. Silva will be piloting his 1997 Honda Civic with 
a commemorative 50th Anniversary McLeod Racing wrap for the 2021 season. Silva will be competing in the highly competitive Sport Front Wheel Drive (SFWD) class for import drag racing across the country.
Silva is no stranger to the import world of racing and street cars. Ricky has 20+ years of street and track experience and is currently the full-time mechanic for CLM Motorsports Inc in the tri-state area. On the track, Silva is the two-time OGS1320 SFWD champion with multiple accolades and wins throughout his racing career.
Silva’s ’97 Honda Civic EK will be equipped with McLeod Racing’s Mini Mag 7 ¼” twin disc clutch for the Honda B-series engines. These units have the only friction material designed to endure the required slippage of drag racing. It has a high clamp to wear ratio, low moment of inertia, and has an open clutch cover design to keep the unit running cooler under heavy use. These kits include a racer rebuildable disc and floater packages along with replacement part availability.
Krista Baldwin to Make Top Fuel Dragster Debut at the NHRA Gator Nationals
GAINESVILLE, FL – Krista Baldwin will make her first professional start in the NHRA Camping World series in a Top Fuel Dragster at the 
Gator Nationals. Krista will be piloting her grandfather’s, NHRA legend Chris “the Greek” Karamesines, Don Schumacher Racing canopy dragster backed by McLeod Racing, Lucas Oil, Strange Engineering, Composite Specialties, and Eat Sleep Race. As the newest NHRA Top Fuel pilot, Baldwin is the only third generation Top Fuel driver in the class.
Baldwin began racing at 18 years old in a front engine dragster in the Nostalgia Eliminator 1 class. In 2015 she upgraded her license to a nitro injected A/Fuel dragster. For the last 5 years, Baldwin has campaigned her McLeod Racing dragster in the Lucas Oil Drag Racing series with Anthony Dicero. This year she will drive for her grandfather, Karamesines, under the black and gold canopy dragster.
“Making the transition to Top Fuel challenged me in ways that I never thought it could,” says the 27-year-old Southern California native. “It showed me to be resilient and to stay true to who I am and what I want to do. Top Fuel is the dream and I’ve worked tirelessly for years to get to this point and I’m so proud that I get to race with my grandpa. I will admit I’m pretty nervous, but I know when the engine fires up and they close that canopy that I’ll be ready for it.”
McLeod Introduces 2020 Mid- Engine Corvette C8 Transmission Frictions and Steels Kit
ANAHEIM, CA – McLeod continues to expand their frictions and steels kits with the addition of the 2020 Chevrolet Mid-Engine Corvette C8 
application. Each kit contains high performance frictions and steels for the TR-9080 DCT 8-speed. The kits are available to order now and are expected to ship in January.
The TR-9080 transmission is an eight speed Wet Dual-Clutch Transmission (DCT) that was manufactured and developed by TREMEC for transaxle applications beginning in 2020 for the revolutionary mid-engine C8 Corvette. The TR-9080 is the first TREMEC design to incorporate the transmission, differential, and axle drive into a single package. It’s able to perform shifts in less than one thousand milliseconds. Both clutches within the TR-9080 transmission have the ability to function as launch clutches and dynamic shifting clutches which allows a driver to have uninterrupted torque and power through clutch-to-clutch shifting.
The McLeod kit provides high performance frictions and steels to provide excellent heat dissipation under heavy loads. Handling up to 1000 HP, the kit improves shift performance and provides a flawless fit with no binding. Equipped with OE steel thickness for maximum heat sink and it is made in the USA.
