CAMRIE CARUSO FEATURED ON COVER OF DRAG ILLUSTRATED

DENVER, NC – Showcasing the impressive start of her rookie Pro Stock career Camrie Caruso is featured on the cover of the latest issue of Drag Illustrated. The driver who has represented primary sponsors Right Trailers, Powerbuilt Tools, Procar by SCAT and most recently Sand Haulers of America behind the wheel of her Chevrolet Camaro was recognized for her consistent driving skills on the track, her emerging presence in the media and her team’s recent performance at the Houston SpringNationals where she earned her first career No. 1 qualifier and raced to runner-up honors. The editorial staff at Drag Illustrated dedicates hundreds of hours to developing the Women of Power issue to highlight women working in every corner of the drag racing universe from drivers to crew to track management to promotions.

“We knew Camrie Caruso’s rookie season in NHRA Pro Stock would be a story to follow well before her breakout weekend in Houston,” said Nate Van Wagnen, editor of Drag Illustrated. “But that performance really made a statement, and we knew we had to explore that story on a high level in our 10th annual Women of Power Issue. Kelly Wade did an excellent job sharing that story, allowing Camrie and the people around her to explain in their own words why Camrie’s early success shouldn’t come as a surprise.”

“This is a great story for so many reasons. Of course, our goal with our annual Women of Power issue is to celebrate and showcase the many talented, accomplished and promising women that comprise the incredibly diverse sport of drag racing, but there’s a significant storyline here that serves Pro Stock as a whole,” said Buck. “This is an eliminator that has seen seismic changes over the last several seasons – rule changes, schedule changes and the coming-and-going of drivers – but is likely the most stable category in professional drag racing today. Camrie and the Caruso family have proven that the ‘Pro Stock Dream’ is alive and well in 2022. I hope their actions over the offseason inspire others to join the fray in factory hot rod.”

This season Caruso has qualified for every national event and secured her first round win in just her second race of the season. She has maintained her position in the Pro Stock Top Ten, currently sitting seventh less than one round out of fifth place, as the tour heads to the New England Nationals this weekend.

“This is a huge honor for me and my team,” said Caruso, who is a third generation drag racer. “I wouldn’t be here without the support of my family and some great marketing partners like Right Trailers, Powerbuilt Tools, Sand Haulers of America, Titan Racing Engines, GESI, NGK Spark Plugs and VP Racing Lubricants. This season is just getting started and we are off to a great start. My goal from day one was to win the championship and that hasn’t changed. I want to thank Wes Buck, Nate Van Wagnen and Mike Carpenter for this cover and the coverage they have provided drag racing over the years. This is an amazing magazine and I am really proud to be on the cover.

This is Caruso’s first solo national magazine cover and in 2018 she was recognized by Drag Illustrated as one of their 30 Under Thirty drag racers to watch.
