AUSTIN PROCK AND MONTANA BRAND NO. 3 FRIDAY AT NHRA ARIZONA NATIONALS

CHANDLER, AZ – Austin Prock and the Montana Brand / Rocky Mountain Twist Chevrolet dragster lead John Force Racing sitting in the No. 3 qualifying spot Friday at the NHRA Arizona Nationals at Wild Horse Pass Motorsports Park. Top Fuel teammate Brittany Force has the Flav-R-Pac / Monster Energy team sitting No. 4 while Robert Hight and the Flav-R-Pac / Cornwell Tools / AAA Chevrolet Camaro SS Funny Car are No. 12 and John Force and the BlueDEF PLATINUM Chevy are No. 14.

After watching much of the nitro categories struggle, Austin Prock and Montana Brand / RMT team, crew chiefed by Chris Cunningham and Joe Barlam, laid down an impressive 3.696-second run at 330.31 mph to land in the No. 3 spot with two qualifying tries left. The effort earns the team a bonus point for being the third quickest in the session.

“Great start from my Montana Brand / Rocky Mountain Twist team. We did exactly what we needed to be in a good position for tomorrow. It always gives you confidence when you can make a nice rip off the trailer door. We’re looking forward to two more nice passes tomorrow,” Prock said. “It’s nice to be back in Arizona and back in the dragster. That first stab of the gas after being off a week gets your attention, a nice reminder of how fast these things are.”

Coming off a No. 1 qualifying position at the season-opening Gatornationals, Brittany Force and the Flav-R-Pac dragster had a solid 3.722-second pass at 323.12 mph to open qualifying at the NHRA Arizona Nationals. Force will start day two of qualifying from the No. 4 spot on Saturday.

The Flav-R-Pac Chevy Camaro SS was up in tire smoke early on its first attempt down Wild Horse Pass Motorsports Park. Hight would cross the finish line at 7.538 seconds and 83.54 mph landing him in the No. 12 spot. The defending event champion, Hight will take advantage of Saturday’s two qualifying runs to move up the ladder, hoping to earn his third No. 1 at the event.

John Force and the BlueDEF PLATINUM Chevy are sitting in the No. 14 spot after shutting off early in their first qualifying attempt at the NHRA Arizona Nationals. For the record, Force crossed the finish line at 8.520 seconds and 77.43 mph. Force will have two more attempts to earn his ninth No. 1 at Wild Horse Pass Motorsports Park.
