The car arrived at 3:20 this morning...and is already nearly ready to race. I have seen some dedicated racers in my time, but never have I seen a group like this. All I can say is impressive!

Here are a few highlights from Friday's testing and qualifying.
Jason Scruggs hit the wall after driving through his own oil.
The team had an oil line come loose at the hit of the throttle that turn the car almost immediately into the wall. The damage was sever enough to keep the crew from returning with that car. They called home to Mississippi and are having someone bring the 2006 Dodge Stratus. The crew has already pulled the motor and trans from the wrecked Camaro and expect the back up car to be here around 4 am. Lots of work ahead for these folks. The crew has already stated they will have the Camaro back together in time for St. Louis in 2 weeks.
Speaking of hard work. Spiro Pappas is here with his GXP. The team suffered a fire at the NMCA/NMRA Super Bowl race last weekend at Route 66 in Joliet, IL. The nose, one door and lots of wiring had to be replaced to make this race. The car was at Jerry Bickle's shop on Tuesday with the crew arriving Wednesday. They have worked around the clock to get the car rebuilt and at the event in VMP. The crew pulled into the the track at 9:30 PM Friday evening. They fired the car at 1:55 AM Saturday morning. They still have some odds and ends to finish up. They should easily make 2nd round of qualifying.
After experiencing 2 fires this year, it's good to see the teams still has a sense of humor!
The big news in Extreme 10.5 was the 4.010 195.73 mph blast of Chuck Ulsch. This is the fastest pass ever for an ADRL Extreme 10.5 car.
Speaking of quick runs the Titans are back! Gary White and crew have struggled to get the mighty Scion back into racing form. They made an outstanding pass this evening when they ran a 4.056 at 181.25 mph. The team has struggled for the past 3 races trying to find the handle on the car. It appears they have!
Pro Extreme motorcycle would have it's own success story. The Lance Hines team out of Macon GA brought an untried brand new bike to the race. With a new unpainted frame, motor and body (still in primer), the team would rip off a 4.252 @ 163.63 mph on only there 2nd run with the bike. Look out folks these boys are on to something!
Not to be out done, Pro Nitrous would see the Al Anabi team take the top 3 spots. Castellana would run a 3.875 @ 192.17, Jenkins ran a 3.883 @ 192.38 and Al-Balooshi ran 3.895 @ 191.70. There were lots of happy campers after Castellana's run!
Pro Extreme was just that. After years of hard work and perseverance, Team Stanley/Weiss were rewarded with their best ever run of 3.797 @ 193.13 to qualify in the #2 position. This was run #3 on the new car!
Quain Stott would be the #1 qualifier in Pro Extreme with a 3.793 @ 200.02 mph.
Extreme Pro Stock would see the top 4 qualifiers separated by only .009 of a second. Leading the pack is John Montecalvo with a 4.130. #2 is Dean Goforth at a 4.131 #3 is Matt Hartford with a 4.132. #4 with a 4.13X is Bob Bertsch with a 4.139.
