VP Racing Fuels named official presenting sponsor of Midwest SuperStar Bracket Series at World Wide Technology Raceway

VP Racing Fuels, JEGS.com and MAHLE Motorsport to offer contingency and bonus awards for six race events and championship

St. Louis Region – World Wide Technology Raceway officials today announced that VP Racing Fuels has been named the official presenting sponsor of the Midwest SuperStar Bracket Series and will join JEGS.com and MAHLE Motorsport as official contingency sponsors for the series. The six-race series, which will be contested over two weekends at WWTR’s drag strip in Madison, Illinois, will pay $10,000 to win and offer bonus awards at each race.  In addition, a series points fund will be distributed to the top five racers in the point standings.

“The commitment from solid brands such as VP, JEGS and MAHLE is a great start for this new program,” said World Wide Technology Raceway Executive Vice President and General Manager Chris Blair. “We want to firmly establish the Midwest SuperStar program as the working class racer’s special event program where every racers feels they have a chance to win great cash and prizes without extensive travel — and without blowing their entire racing budget on entry fees.”

Thanks to contingency sponsor commitments, each race winner will receive a $200 product award. Each race’s  runner-up will receive a $50 product award. Upon completion of the two race weekends, the top five racers in championship points will receive $1,500 in product awards from each sponsor – distributed as $750 for first, $300 for second, $200 for third, $150 for fourth and $100 for fifth. Cash awards will be paid with $1,000 to the champion, $500 for second place, $350 for third, $250 for fourth and $200 for fifth.  Based on the current program — with more sponsors in discussion — the champion will receive $1,000 cash and $2,250 in product awards for only a two weekend commitment.

Each Midwest SuperStar Bracket Series event will pay a guaranteed $10,000 to win, $2,000 for second, $750 for semis, $300 for quarter-finals, $200 for eighths (and 1/16th and 1/32nd rounds will be paid based on overall car count). Racers are allowed multiple entries, with $150 for the first entry, with a second entry for only $125. Only one full ET class will be contested at each event and all races are 1/8th-mile.

“The primary focus of each race is to have fun and win great prizes,” continued Blair. “In addition to the posted awards, our team is developing a new championship trophy for this series and it will be something a racer proudly can display as an exceptional statement piece in the trophy case. They will be able to point to that trophy and proudly state they beat the best in the Midwest.”

The first Midwest SuperStar Bracket Series event weekend will take place on April 17-19 in conjunction with the NHRA Division 3 JEGS Super Quick Series season opener. A special Jr. Dragster event will be included in the program.

The second, and final, series event weekend will take place on June 12-14.  In addition to the series, a special door car-and-dragster special will be contested on Friday and Saturday night.
