V. Gaines Heads to the NHRA Finals

Pomona, CA – As V Gaines and his Kendall Motor Oil team head back to where it all started it’s hard to not look back on what has been an crazy 2014 Mello Yello NHRA season.

Starting out strong, including a couple of runner up finishes in the Kendall Motor Oil Avenger the guys were on a roll. Dodge released the new Pro Stock body and the guys at Lazarus Race Cars starting building the new Kendall Motor Oil Dart. The super slick Dart made it’s first race in July. As the season went on the guys were just starting to find the set up on the Dart when the unexpected happened and the Kendall Motor Oil Dart went for a wild ride….. Wasting no time the guys blew the dust off the Avenger and were back out racing the next weekend.

“I think it really showed everyone what this team is all about” V Gaines “Even if we tried to tell people about the time, effort, and all the help we received it would sound like we made it all up”

It took a race or two for the team to re-dial in the Avenger and now they are set to run at the final race of the 2014 Mean Teeth Tour.

“We always enjoy racing at Pomona” Gary tells us. “This is where it all started and the history of this sport is every where”

V and the team enter the last race of the season number 9 in the Mello Yello point battle. They will have two sessions on Friday, two more on Saturday and then elimination day is Sunday. Make sure and check your local listings for TV time in your area.

Ms. Forbyn and her 4th grade class have started their year off with a bang as well. Working on the Wall of Success and other race themed lessons. We always enjoy following along with the class and we will keep everyone up to date on the teams Facebook page.
