Father’s Day Special … Drag racing is known as a family sport handed down from one generation to the next, but for three-time world champion Antron Brown and his family, Father’s Day is extra special. The Brown drag racing legacy now stretches through four generations. Antron’s grandfather led the way, followed by his father and uncle and finally Antron, who has handed his drag racing legacy down to all three of his children. In 2017, when Antron had his Top Fuel championship streak snapped at two, the household didn’t go without a title as his son, 13-year-old Anson, won the Midwestern Junior Dragster championship.

Kalitta Looks to Take the Next Step at Bristol … After advancing to the semi-finals in Chicago and following a runner-up showing in Richmond last week, Doug Kalitta looks to take the next step into the Bristol Winner’s Circle this weekend when the NHRA competes in the Thunder Valley Nationals at the Bristol Dragway. Kalitta has already claimed one victory this season at the Winternationals in Pomona and has climbed into third in the championship race.

Todd Rolling Toward the Countdown … J.R. Todd has shown no signs of a ‘sophomore slump’ in his second season of Funny Cars, earning two wins and reaching the semi-finals or beyond in four of the last seven events. Over the last 20 races, Todd is tied for the most wins (four) in Funny Car. He enters this weekend’s Thunder Valley Nationals fifth in points, less than one round out of fourth place.
