Redding, CA – The West Coast Outlaw Pro Mod Association kicks off their fifth season this year and it is shaping up to be an exciting one as three new tracks have come on board for 2012. There are eight events total on tap for the upcoming season, more events than any of the previous years for the series.

The season will start off at one of those new tracks; Rocky Mountain Raceways in Salt Lake City, Utah on Memorial Day weekend, May 25-26. There will be three weeks off until the second event at Firebird Raceway in Boise, Idaho; the “Fox Hunt” event on June 22-23.

The group will then have one week off before traveling to Mission, BC, Canada which is the first event for the WCOPMA outside of the states and will be the first time many of the racers have ran at Mission Raceway Park. The Mission event is on the July 7-8 weekend and many of our racers look forward to running at the low elevation track that has all the right factors for career best numbers.

With one week off after Mission it is off to a more “hometown” event for many of our members at Infineon Raceway in Sonoma, California on July 20-22 at the NHRA Division 7 event. Last year this was one of the biggest events on the schedule and it looks like it will be a big one in 2012 as well.

There will be a two week break after Sonoma before heading to Firebird Raceway in Boise, Idaho for the second time in 2012. This time it will be at the “Nightfire Nationals”, Firebird Raceway’s biggest event of the year, on the August 10-12 weekend. From Idaho most of the teams will travel straight to Denver, Colorado to Bandimere Speedway to race at the Super Chevy Show event the following weekend on August 17-19.

After the two week Boise/Denver trip there will be a nice three week break before the WCOPMA returns to Sacramento Raceway in Sacramento, California for the first time since 2010 to run at the tracks biggest event, the “Governors Cup” on September 14-15, another “hometown” event for many WCOPMA members.

Two weeks after Sacramento and the 2012 WCOPMA season will wrap up Southwestern International Raceway, another new track to the WCOPMA, in Tucson, Arizona on October 5-6.
