THAMESVILLE, ON – Pro Bike rider Dan Cryderman placed second in points in the Pro Bike & Sled Series Championship Point Award Series Standings for 2011, the first year for the popular drag racing series featuring motorcycles and snowmobiles.

The Thamesville, Ontario rider said along with his fine showing in the first season of competition, he enjoyed his off-track experiences during the six-race series.

“We had a pretty good year,” noted the former AMA (American Motorcycle Association) drag racer. “We had fun and we met a lot of new people.”

Qualifying for all events on the Cryderman Farms 2004 Suzuki, Cryderman’s season was highlighted with two final-round appearances on the Pro Bike side of the racing, plus an overall event win (at Grand Bend) over number one qualifier Jim Bernier of Stratford, Ontario after eliminating eventual PBSS champion Randy Hope of London, Ontario in the Pro Bike final.

Cryderman’s Suzuki is powered by a 1640-cc Vortex2 engine sitting between the frame rails of the Raceworks Canada chassis, and is fuelled by a set of FBG 48mm Lectrons.

He has raced for over 20 years, but added he got serious in 2005.

He said his biggest challenge for 2011 was the use of a delay box with the Suzuki, something new for his PBSS racing.

“The biggest change we had this year was using a delay box,” he said. “It took a while and a couple of red lights to get my head around it.”

He also mentioned that there was a scramble to fix a broken crankshaft midway through the year, but he, along with crew chief Jeremey Van Bastelaar and teammate Greg Schieman were able to keep the bike in top running condition. The Suzuki travels the quarter mile in the low eight-second range with speeds up to 155 mph.

Cryderman wanted to thank his suppliers, Raceworks Canada, Fast by Gast, and Ward Performance for their support in 2011. He added that involvement in the PBSS will increase in the coming years.

“This series is only going to grow,” he believes. “Some had a wait and see attitude, but the series will get better. I was very impressed with the way the series is run.”

The Annual “Night of Champions” Championship Point Award Series Banquet for the Pro Modified Racing Association (PMRA), the Quick 32 Sportsman Series and the Pro Bike & Sled Series (PBSS) will be held at the Burlington Hotel & Conference Centre in Burlington, Ontario on Saturday, November 19, 2011.
