The National Guard is ready to “Rock” at Rockingham!

The US National Guard Red Team led by Driver Josh Hernandez and Crew Chief Jim Oddy pulls into ADRL’s Dragstock at Rockingham.  Coming on the heels of a runner up finish at Hebron a few weeks ago with stellar times through out the eliminations, the Team feels like it has finally found the combination it has been searching for ever since the McAmis built ’57 chevy rolled into the shop in May. As Jim Oddy remarked, ” the combo looks good and it couldn’t come at a better time or place than here at Rockingham”. Jim goes on to talk about the history of Rockingham, ” I have been racing here for decades, Rockingham almost feels like my home boy. The track surface is always perfectly prepared and I love the atmosphere and the people.

The National Guard Driver Josh Hernandez, who will be leading the charge to victory lane, has a special affection for Rockingham, ” The “Rock” a few years ago, is where I set the record for being the first ProMod in the fives, which at the time was uncharted territory. To me personally, Rockingham will always be special; sort like a first kiss or date”.

Supercharger specialist Troy Critchley, who also runs Hammer Superchargers for AMS and the National Guard Team, is in more of a pragmatic mood, grinning, playing a mock violin saying, ” yeah..yeah ..lets just go out and win this race! We are overdue, we need to focus, go out and let the hammer down. Josh and Team Red needs a win, especially with the ADRL World Finals in Dallas looming on the horizon next month “.

Assistant Crew Chief, Dave Oddy is quick to agreed and goes on to say,” It goes back to the old saying, timing is everything and it seems that we are starting to peak at precisely the right time , and now I am ready to let it all hang out at this great facility and bring a National Guard Minuteman home”.

AMS Racing would like to thank all it Corporate partners for their support: Red line Oil, NGK Spark Plugs, Hammer Superchargers, Interlinc Mortgage, VP Racing Fuels, Dallas National Insurance, Safety Kleen, Mechanic’s Wear, Permatex Products,  the US National Guard and all their young men and women in uniform serving here and away.
