Texas Motorplex Honors Military and First Responders with Ticket Offers, Special Guests

ENNIS, TEXAS – For the past several years the NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series and race tracks across the country have been recognizing and honoring first responders and members of the armed forces. The Texas Motorplex has been a consistent supporter of both of these remarkable groups of people and their families over the years. This year during the 34th annual AAA Texas NHRA FallNationals, the Texas Motorplex will once again offer members of the active or retired military, government employees and first responders a variety of ticket discounts to the NHRA national event.

“We look at all the sacrifices first responders and members of the military make every day or have made throughout their careers and we just wanted to say thank you,” said Andy Carter Texas Motorplex General Manager. “We will be recognizing members of the armed services and first responders throughout the event. We also have a special promotion with the Chris Kyle Frog Foundation as well as a special national anthem singer.”

Military members will be able to save 20% on Adult Reserved or General Admission Tickets on any race day. The offer is also redeemable online in advance through a unique purchase link available to verified users on GovX. Additionally, savings will also available at the gate with presentation of professional or Military ID at the ticket window.

During Saturday’s final day of qualifying the Chris Kyle Frog Foundation will be hosting hundreds of guests thanks to the generosity of Billy and Steve Torrence, the father and son Top Fuel team and owners of Kilgore-based Capco Contractors. The Torrences along with the Texas Motorplex donated ticket to the Chris Kyle Frog Foundation as part of a Memorial Day ticket promotion. Car Wrap City and McAllister’s are providing a hospitality tent and food for the group.

On Sunday as part of the massive pre-race ceremony Staff Sergeant Sam Glidewell will be performing the anthem. The Staff Sergeant came to the Motorplex’s attention through his performances in the DFW area at prior concerts and other major events. As a backdrop for Staff Sergeant Glidewell’s anthem performance the Motorplex will once again drape a three story American flag on the front of their suite tower building.

The AAA Texas NHRA FallNationals will be contested from October 18-20 with two days of qualifying on Friday and Saturday. Nitro qualifying times for Friday are 3:30 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. and on Saturday the Top Fuel and Funny Car teams will hit the track at 1:00 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. Final elimination will be contested on Sunday beginning at 11 a.m. For tickets and more information visit www.texasmotorplex.com
