Summit Racing Equipment Mid-West Pro Mods Thunder into Tulsa for Throwdown

Tulsa, OK – Just two weeks ago the Summit Racing Equipment Mid-West Pro Mod Series battled it out on the grounds in St. Louis, and now the series is planning on making more noise than a Midwest thunderstorm when they open the gate at Tulsa Raceway Park for Throwdown in T-Town.

The Throwdown in T-Town is a huge event that attracts racers from all over the Midwest, and this weekend it will be on par with something that cannot be described in words. Not only will the MWPMS feature their Pro Mods, but there will also be Top Sportsman, Top Dragster, and X275.

“Being back at home is always an amazing feeling. I think I speak for both Todd (Martin) and myself when I say that there is nothing better than racing in front of our home town fans. The Throwdown in T-Town is more than just another drag race, it is celebration of everything good about drag racing”, stated series Founder Keith Haney.

Right now, there is a mighty tight battle within Pro Mod and Top Dragster when it comes to points. The beautiful Mustang of Aaron Wells is on top of the heap in Pro Mod, but only by a slim 21-point lead over the “Madman” Frankie Taylor. The “YoungGun” Justin Jones is looking to blow right past both of them and take that lead going into the month-long break. And in Top Dragster, Wynette Hudgins is sitting in first, but there are two drivers tied for second that are looking to challenge for the top spot. Jimmy Sackuvich and Rob Moser both sit a scant 52 points behind Wynette.

Let’s not forget about Earl Folse who is looking to extend his commanding lead over Bob Gulitti in the extremely tough Top Sportsman class. I am sure that Bob is going to be looking to avenge before finals exit that he experienced in St. Louis.

Back for their second points shot of the year and the small tire freaks on 275’s. The two Texans Shane Heckel and Kenny Hubbard are only separated by 7 points in the standings. We are sure to see some flame spitting nitrous cars, and some seriously high flying, wheels up action in X275.

Let us not forget that this event is for the fans as well. Friday and Saturday are FREE for the fans. Check out https://www.stubwire.com/throwdown/ and get you free tickets!! We hope to see everyone come out for what is sure to be one of the best events in Tulsa’s history.
