STEVE EASTON AND PATRIOT PRO MOD LOOKING FOR CONTINUED SUCCESS IN 2019

SALEM, OH – Last year Australian Pro Mod racer Steve Easton drove the Patriot Pro Mod, a ’63 split window Corvette, to two wins and a career best elapsed time before packing it in for a well-deserved off-season.  In partnership with crew chief Randy Minadeo the duo made steady improvement throughout the season. With Minadeo once again handling the chassis and suspension while Easton manages the driving duties and weighing in on engine tune-up and drive train the pair expects even more positive results in 2019. Easton and the Patriot Pro Mod team are starting off more prepared and more excited for a busy Pro Mod campaign throughout Ohio, Michigan, Illinois, North Carolina and Virginia.

“We really didn’t take too much time off after last season,” said Easton. “We were right back in the shop working on the whole car. My tune-up really came together at the end of the season and to finish the way we did is a tribute to everyone on this team and all our sponsors. I think we will be even stronger this season.”

As the 2019 season came together Easton and the Patriot Pro Mod team brought on a new sponsor in SSI Supercharger Systems out of Cleveland, Ohio. The team tested at Dragway 42 in mid-June with tremendous results and more importantly consistent power.

“I can’t thank the guys from SSI enough for this supercharger,” said Easton. “We were creating a fair amount of power last year but this SSI supercharger is a game changer for us. They got this supercharger together for us in two days and we were at Dragway 42 putting laps on it right away. We couldn’t be happier.”

Another new addition under the hood for the Patriot Pro Mod team is a set of Manton tool steel rocker arms. Last season the team battled valve train issues and they dedicated themselves to correcting that problem.

“I can’t thank Manton enough for such a great product,” said Easton. “Last season it seemed like we were plagued with valve train failure and now we have everything under control all the way to over 10,000 rpm.”

Easton picked up his second win of the 2018 season at D.A.D.’s Big Tire Outlaw at Quaker City Motorsports Park in late September. At his final race of the year at Dragway 42 the Patriot Pro Mod ran low ET of the event, a strong 3.91 second pass at 188 mph in the 1/8 mile. This year Easton is looking forward to getting back to Dragway 42 as well as many other tracks around the country.

“We do most of our races at Dragway 42, Milan Dragway and Quaker City Motorsports Park so we are all over Michigan and Ohio,” explained Easton. “We are also going to hit other tracks around the country including Lucas Oil Raceway in Indianapolis, Summit Motorsports Park in Norwalk (OH), Virginia Motorsports Park in Virginia, Route 66 Raceway in Joliet (IL) as well as Galot Motorsports Park in North Carolina for some bigger one or two day races.  It is great to show off this beautiful Patriot Pro Mod at tracks across the country. I think it is one of the best looking race cars in the country.”

At the beginning of the year the Patriot Pro Mod team shot a 2019 season promo video to highlight the drama of Pro Mod racing. Filmed at Summit Motorsports Park, America’s Race Track, Easton had a professional film crew capture moments leading up to one of his Pro Mod laps. The video gives fans an inside look as the safety precautions the team takes as well as highlighting the team effort it takes to make a pass in these exciting and unpredictable race cars. The video can be viewed here.
