Spradlin Motorsports Carries Momentum into Gainesville Lucas Oil Drag Racing Event

Casey Spradlin, driver of the Southeastern Hose backed Top Sportsman and Top Dragster team hopes 2016 starts NOPI WC Spradlin Motorsportswhere 2015 ended…in the winner’s column. The off season is finally over for the team as the season kicks off with back to back races in Gainesville, Florida for the multi-time Southeast Division points champion based out of Ranburne, AL. The Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series Southeast Division opener is this weekend at the fabled AutoPlus Raceway followed by the historic GatorNationals. Spradlin hopes the off season preparation will pay off with small and big Wally’s!

“This particular off season was pretty special as we not only had to get my 1600 horsepower supercharged powerplants ready for 2016 but we also added a 5 horsepower powerplant to the stable. My daughter will become the 3rd generation Spradlin drag racer when she starts in the NHRA Jr. Dragster League trainee program this season,” the proud father beams. “This has me more excited than ever. I am ready to get our Spring races underway so that we can get her on the track also.”

Spradlin was not only busy getting 3 cars ready for the upcoming racing season, he was busy adding marketing partners to the ever growing list of supporters that help make the team successful. Spradlin Motorsports and Southeastern Hose, based in Bremen, GA will mark their 5th year anniversary together this season. “Dick and Bill Travis and the employees of Southeastern Hose are the reason we have multiple championship trophies on our mantle. In 2012, when they joined our team, we were sitting on the sidelines when the season started…although we started late, we finished strong by winning the NHRA division championship that season and again in 2014. That would not have happened if it wasn’t for their support. Since then, we have been blessed to add additional supporters each season,” a thankful Spradlin reflects.

Spradlin Motorsports is very proud that NGK Spark plugs, CP Carrillo Connecting Rods and Pistons, and Manley Performance will be joining the team this season. NGK has a long and storied history in motorsports because of their quality spark plugs that racing teams can rely on to help their engines perform and win. The same goes for Manley, they are celebrating their 50th year in business, which is not possible without quality parts and great customer service. CP Carrillo’s Aluminum connecting rods are the best in the industry, you see them in all the professional classes like promod, top alcohol, and nitro cars. The horsepower required to run in the sportsman levels two fastest classes requires reliable internal engine parts that will hold up for multiple seasons for the “working man’s” sportsman racing teams. “We work really hard to win on the track, but we also work very hard to help our supporters in their marketing efforts and I think it shows by the number of companies that see value in our efforts,” Spradlin says proudly.

The team’s 2016 plans are to pursue the NHRA national and Southeast division championships in both Top Dragster and Top Sportsman. The off weekends will be filled with test sessions for the future generation of Spradlin Motorsports.
