Pete Maduri Jr Wins TNT Super Series BONUS Race at Lancaster

Past TNTSS champion makes it look easy!

LANCASTER, NY – North Tonawanda, New York’s Pete Maduri Jr won the Joe’s Transmission TNT Super Series BONUS Race last Friday at Lancaster Dragway. The 2010 TNTSS Champion bested the 33 cars that rolled into the beams for first round in a very tough qualified field.  If you weren’t better than 7.011, you were qualified outside of the top ten.

The BONUS Race was a joint effort presented by both Steve’s Electric and Jan-Cen Motorsports combining two previous rainouts into one ‘give it all away’ race.  And while Maduri took home $1000 for the win, lots of racers went home with extra cash and prizes.

In eliminations, Maduri used the tree to get past Alex Lepp in round one. Then Tyler Halleen had starting line advantage in round two but broke out by .006.

Round three saw Dave Gunn go red sending Maduri to a bye in round four and then into the semi’s. There he made easy work of Chris VanBaalen.

In the money round, Maduri was paired with Pat Boniferro. At the green, Maduri had the advantage and carried it through to a 7.018 for the win over Boniferro’s 7.003 effort.

“I want to thank my entire family and crew – my dad, mother, girlfriend Brie, daughter Zavanna, and sister Gina,” said Maduri. “Especially my father for all his hard work.”

He went on, “This win was special because it was just Brie and I running the show this past Friday.”  Maduri also mentioned he wanted to send a special thanks to Ted Barnes and Joe Boniferro for all they do to run this series.  “Also, to Charlene Lepp for all her hard work.”

“I’m dedicating the win to last year’s TNTSS champ Jim Thomson as we are all behind him in his fight.”

Maduri’s ride is supported by Dynabrade Industrial Power Tools.  “Dynabrade is the worldwide leader in pneumatic power tools.  Everything is manufactured right in Clarence, NY.  I left the area as a sales manager for them in Texas and Indy.  I am now the Corporate Trainer at the headquarters,” he added.

The vette roadster is powered by a 488″ BBC and is capable of 8.90s in the quarter.
