Diedrich Heads to Bakersfield to run with the WCHRA

Firebaugh, Ca – The Firebaugh Express Racing team is hot off a win last weekend in Oregon and will now head to 
Bakersfield, California this weekend to run with the West Coast Hot Rod Association in the Pro Street class.
Normally Diedrich has his “outlaw” buddies Rod Burbage and Bret Williamson accompany him at the WCHRA events but both of those teams will be absent at the “California Nationals” and Diedrich will be representing the screw-blown entry’s solo.
Coming off what was one of the team’s best racing events last weekend (by getting their first Pro Mod event win and setting a new personal best ET at 6.11) they are going to carry that momentum into Bakersfield with them and look to secure their second event win. Diedrich believes his team has found a way to consistently run quick ET’s and go rounds. The bad luck has bit them all year long, hopefully the win last weekend has turned the tables and the team can finish out the season strong!
The Don Carter Motorsports team nearly doubles their WCOPMA points lead after Woodburn

Sacramento, Ca – Don Carter’s driver, Bret Williamson, is 3-for-3 in final round appearances this season while running with the West Coast Outlaw Pro Mod Association. During the July 10-11 weekend, Bret once again made it to
the final round at Woodburn Dragstrip to face Jay Diedrich.
The team traveled to Woodburn, Oregon chasing an engine problem. They worked with the fuel system and MSD timing boxes before the event and unloaded the car untested after the changes. On the first qualifying pass they made it down with a very soft 6.66. They adjusted the tune up for the second qualifying hit and ran another mid 6-second pass but dropped a couple cylinders during the run. On the third and final session they improved to a 6.42 which placed them in the number three qualifying position.
During Sunday’s eliminations Williamson was faced against Cecil Matthews in his 1955 T-Bird in the first round. Off the line Cecil took the early lead with a great .007 reaction time but by half track the Studebaker drove around Cecil and charged down the back half of the track to take the win with an improving 6.34.

CAYUGA, ONTARIO – With a rookie leading the points race, two different winners in the last two races, and one of 
the regular PMRA competitors setting a North American Pro Modified speed record, this weekend’s Pro Modified Racing Association event during the IHRA MOPAR Nitro Jam Nationals promises to be one of the best in the history of the drag race series.
This weekend’s racing will be held at the Grand Bend Motorplex in Grand Bend, Ontario.

Diedrich Wins in Woodburn!

Woodburn, OR – No more waiting and wondering when his first Pro Mod victory would come, Jay Diedrich placed his 
“Evil Outlaw” 1957 Chevy in the winner’s circle at Woodburn Dragstrip this past weekend while running with the West Coast Outlaw Pro Mod Association.
Diedrich has won multiple events with his Top Sportsman 1968 Camaro and had many semi-final and runner up finishes in the Pro Mod car, but he hasn’t been able to secure a victory in the three years he has raced the “Evil Outlaw” 1957 Chevy.
Starting off the weekend Diedrich placed himself in the number two qualifying spot after the first qualifying session with a 6.37. The team was happy with that run as they had no prior data for this race track and no testing prior to this pass but now had data to tune with.
ADRL Presents Special Condensed Version of Independence Drags IV on Website Free of Charge

O’FALLON, MO — After extensive requests from fans for a replay of the American Drag Racing League’s (ADRL) online video broadcast from the ADRL Hardee’s Independence Drags IV, ADRL officials announced that the event
has been cut into a one hour, twenty minute special presentation. This announcement comes just as LenMar Motorsports announced it will continue to sponsor the ADRL live online broadcasts.
The special, shortened presentation is available for viewing on the ADRL website, www.ADRL.us, as part of the ADRL’s continuing effort to provide the most innovative and complete coverage in all of drag racing. With this condensed broadcast, racing fans will be able to take in all the action and all the sights and sounds from the Independence Drags, which took place July 2-3 from Heartland Park Topeka in Topeka, KS.
Featured in this special presentation will be every race pass from the event, replays, interviews and features from the pits and much more. The special 80-minute presentation also includes high-definition picture quality and multiple angles as part of the comprehensive coverage. ADRL’s Online Video Coverage at Hardee’s Independence Drags IV Receives High Praise

O’FALLON, MO — After an overwhelmingly positive response from fans and drivers, the American Drag Racing 
League (ADRL) declared its first all-access online video broadcast an overwhelming success. The extensive coverage was presented at www.ADRL.us for the ADRL Hardee’s Independence Drags IV from Heartland Park Topeka on July 2-3, and it was met with a tremendous response.
The full broadcast was presented free of charge after LenMar Motorsports generously provided the financial backing to give fans a free opportunity to watch the entire program. Gaylen Smith of LenMar Motorsports was one of many who were excited about the reaction. “This is a major feat. The deal is definitely a smash hit,” Smith said. “We got a ton of great feedback.”
The completion of the Independence Drags IV was postponed due to steady rain on Saturday at the Topeka event, but that didn’t prevent an incredible reaction from fans and drivers when it came to the online broadcast. The following is a sampling of the driver feedback to the online broadcast:

Hagerstown, MD – The race weekend in beautiful Heartland Park in Topeka, Kansas sure wasn’t one to write home 
about after all three of Friday’s qualifying sessions were completed.
We found ourselves and our normally potent race car on the outside looking in! We were number NINETEEN out of a field of THIRTY! So much for the headline at the end of the Martin race. We may have thought we were back but on Friday night it wasn’t looking so good!
A lot of Thinking 101 went on and the crew spied what they thought may be the issue Friday night and then Mr. Bigtime Crew Chief came to the same conclusion on Saturday morning while the crew were still snuggled in their beds like bugs in a rug. He, being ME had made a really Dummy 101 tilt error mistake when making some mathematical calculations. That’s right, he can’t count! But as an Australian racer used to tell me: “if you did it-put your hand up.” And I have both hands up and am standing on a ladder for one and all to see!
