Fresh look for Sam Andreacchi’s Paul Wolf Electric and Lighting Supply for 2011 PMRA

TORONTO, ON – When Andreacchi Motorsports returns to the Pro Modified Racing Association for the upcoming 2011 season, the car will be sporting a new look.

The sinister flat-black painted 1969 Chevy Nova-bodied Pro Modified will be featuring a new paint job, according to team driver Sam Andreacchi.

“The car’s going to have a new look,” he explained. “We’ve got a new paint scheme all ready for when we come out.”

The car, co-owned by Andreacchi and Domenic Calabria, had a good season last year, placing fifth in the PMRA Championship Point Award Series presented by Magnum Auto Parts and Patio Passport, qualifying well in the field, and highlighting the season with a victory at the Stratford Spectacular Hot August Nationals presented by Ideal Supply & NAPA Auto Parts at the Grand Bend Motorplex.

Janis Hoping NHRA Houston Semi-Final Finish Translates into Win at Maple Grove

Elma, NY – After their semi-final finish at the NHRA Spring Nationals in Houston last week; Mike Janis and his Jan-Cen team stayed extra day to test their ADRL Pro Extreme Duster, built by And McCoy Race Cars, along with AJPE’s Alan Johnson and Terry Morrow.

 The 5300 motor from AJPE is in what some might call refinement right now. The Jan-Cen team of Mike Janis is assisting the crew at AJPE in “On Track Data retrieval”.

 “Alan, Terry, and the guys at AJPE have put a ton of work into this combination and we are lucky enough to work with them in putting her through her paces on the track,” said Mike Janis of Jan-Cen Racing Engines. “Being able to test here with my crew and the team from AJPE being present , including Alan, is beneficial to both the development of this engine and my getting into the ADRL winner’s circle,” added Janis.

Mickey Thompson NAMED OFFICIAL TIRE OF FRANK HAWLEY DRAG RACING SCHOOL

STOW, OH – Mickey Thompson Performance Tires & Wheels has been named the official tire of Frank Hawley Drag Racing School this year. Mickey Thompson continues to support the school and students by providing high performance tires and wheels for the drag racing vehicles used by the students.

School founder and instructor Frank Hawley has been using the Mickey Thompson brand at the school since 2003. Now celebrating 26 years, the school specializes in training drivers for drag racing. 

“We love the consistent results we see with Mickey Thompson tires,” said Frank Hawley. “We use several of the different drag tires and sizes, and we select certain compounds for certain applications.

Our Super Comp Dragster, the Super Gas Firebird and both of our alcohol cars are outfitted with Mickey Thompson tires. We even have them on our Pro Stock bike.”

ADRL’s Taylor Ready For Fast Times At Maple Grove

O’FALLON, MO – After a productive testing session at Royal Purple Raceway on Monday, American Drag Racing League (ADRL) Pro Extreme star Frankie Taylor had a succinct message.

“We’ve been struggling the last couple months, but it’s back,” said Taylor, the 2010 ADRL Pro Extreme World Champion.
Whatever was missing during the first two months of the year was found at Royal Purple Raceway during testing for Taylor’s PX car.

He went 3.65 the day before he left for this weekend’s Penske Truck Leasing Inaugural Northeast Drags at Maple Grove Raceway, giving the excitable Taylor some good vibes heading into the ADRL’s third race of the season.

“Something like that makes us feel better and a lot more confident,” Taylor said.

Four-Car Top Sportsman Exhibition Slated for ADRL Maple Grove

O’FALLON, MO – The world’s premier eighth-mile drag racing league will offer even more racing this weekend.

The American Drag Racing League (ADRL) announced on Tuesday that it will run a four-car Top Sportsman exhibition at Friday and Saturday’s Penske Truck Leasing Inaugural Northeast Drags, which takes place at Maple Grove Raceway.

The four-car Top Sportsman exhibition will feature Tyler Hard, Marco Abruzzi, Glen Butcher and Ronnie Proctor, all of whom are recognized standouts in the widely-popular Top Sportsman class.

Top Sportsman is a popular class for full-bodied cars, with competitors running in a dial-in E.T. format.

“We’re thrilled to have these top sportsman competitors coming to Maple Grove Raceway,” ADRL Director of Competition Tom Grooms said. “Many of our drivers came up through the Top Sportsman ranks and it’s only natural for our organization to expand to get back to the grassroots of our sport.

O’FALLON, MO – Jon Kaase Racing Engines is helping to bring even more excitement to Extreme Pro Stock qualifying sessions at each American Drag Racing League (ADRL) event.

The world’s premier eighth-mile drag racing league announced on Wednesday that Jon Kaase Racing Engines will be the sponsor of the Kaase Tuning Challenge in Extreme Pro Stock, which will pay out a $500 bonus to the crew chief and team who has the lowest combined E.T. of all four qualifying sessions.

NEOPMA Returns to MIR for 33rd Mountain Motor Nationals, Mat 13-14

BUDDS CREEK, MD – The Northeast Outlaw Pro Mod Association season kicks off at MIR for the first of two appearances in 2011 for the world famous “Mountain Motor Nationals May 13th and 14th. This “Extreme Pro Mod Event“ featuring quarter mile drag racing with over 30 Pro Mod entries will consist of two classes, Blower/Turbo’s and Nitrous.

These Pro Mods can cover the 1/4 mile in the high 5 second range at speeds approaching 240 mph. Also as a bonus race, 8 Car Shootout with the next 8 quickest non qualifiers. That’s 24 qualified Pro Mods at one event.

Last year’s event proved to be a huge success with the fans, and is one of the teams favorite track’s with gracious track hospitality, excellent track conditions and great supporting fans, and this year will be even bigger and better.

Brian Roach on tap to battle in new Pro Bike & Sled Series

ACTON, ON – After some seasons racing his snowmobile in sanctioned grass-surfaced drag racing, Brian Roach is preparing his sled for his first year of asphalt competition in the new Pro Bike & Sled Series presented by Wiseco Performance Products.

“I’m looking forward to seeing what happens,” he said. “It should be interesting.”

Roach will be racing in the Pro Sled division, which, along with the companion Po Bike division, will race against each other in their respective divisions, and the winner of each division will go against each other in the final to determine the event champion.

The racers will compete in ET-style, dial-in racing on a Sportsman ladder.

With a 1000-cc MRE 265-horsepower engine in his 400-pound Ski-Doo Mach Z, Roach is hoping for sub nine-second trips down the quarter-mile with his sled.

Sponsoring the Badboy Racing Team is Brian’s Truck and Trailer Repairs, with support from TGR.
