We worked closely with NEOPMA this past season and when faced with the decision of choosing recipients for 2011, we quickly realized the difficulty of the task and called in re-enforcements,” explained Chris.

“So, with the help of our good friend Mark from goDragRacing.org and series frontman, John Mazzorana, we decided there would be 4 Editor’s Choice Awards for 2011, and that ALL 4 would go to racers of the Northeast Outlaw Pro Modified Association!”

LAS VEGAS, NV – It’s hard for a race team to have higher expectations for the 2012 Pacific Street Car Association series when the ’11 season ended with them hoisting the PSCA Pro Street championship, but that’s exactly what Maggio Motorsports is planning.

“Looking back on the Maggio Motorsports 2011 season is a true pleasure,” Maggio Motorsports Owner Mike Maggio said. “We have so much to be thankful for and proud of.”

HEBRON, OH – JEGS.com racer Makenna Brown arrived at Saturday evening’s National Trail Raceway Awards Ceremony knowing she would collect one trophy and hoping she’d earn another. Little did she know, the 11-year-old granddaughter of Hall of Famer Jeg Coughlin and his wife Sue would leave the banquet hall with three pieces of hardware.

Brown first picked up her hard-earned Jr. Dragster 2 track championship, which she claimed by the slenderest of margins over Nicholas Altenbach. She was then recognized as Most Improved Jr. Dragster Driver, a special honor voted on by her fellow racers.

But that wasn’t all. Brown also was presented with a custom-made trophy from her grandparents that noted her being the first Jr. Dragster Champion and the first Female Champion for Team JEGS.

“Winning the track championship was very special to me in many ways because I know how much goes into it,” Brown said. “Just to be nominated for Most Improved Jr. Dragster Driver next to Dustin Eveland and Michael Ruark was another big honor so to actually win that one as well was another dream come true.

HEBRON, Ohio (Jan. 26) – Team JEGS driver Makenna Brown already knows she will leave this Saturday’s National Trail

Raceway Awards Banquet with one trophy, but it was recently revealed that the Junior Dragster phenom has been nominated for a second.

Brown won the National Trail Jr. Dragster 2 class track championship by one point in 2011, which is the primary reason she will attend the banquet. As a bonus, Brown is one of three nominees for “Most Improved Jr. Dragster Driver” award, which is determined by a vote of the racers themselves.

If Brown wins the special award it would be the second straight year she has won a special end-of-year track award. Brown was selected as the 2010 Jr. Dragster Rookie of the Year at National Trail.

Wes Goddard looks to strong racing in 2012 Quick 32 Series

GUELPH, ON – Wes Goddard may have one of the older car body styles in the Quick 32 Sportsman Series, but underneath his 1958 Nash Metropolitan is state-of-the-art in drag racing.

Powered by a 509-cubic inch Chevrolet engine, Goddard’s Nash sports a set of twin 76-millimeter Precision Turbochargers which can power the 101-inch wheelbase down the quarter mile at speeds over 200 mph.

This season will be the first full year for the Top Sportsman car, which was assembled last year and saw limited use in Quick 32 Sportsman Series presented by NAPA Auto Parts action.

“It’s been lots of learning,” noted Goddard, who is not only the driver of the Hell Billy Racing entry, but performs crew chief duties as well. “The car was all brand new when we got it down the track late last year at Cayuga.

“But the power is not an issue,” he continued. “I was able to go 200 mph with the gates (wastegates on the turbochargers open). With everything in order, we should be getting 2400 horsepower.”
