NHRA WEST CENTRAL DIVISION AND NORTHWEST DIVISION TO FINALIZE 2018 JEGS ALLSTAR TEAMS IN 2017

GLENDORA, CA – The move of the Fallen Patriots NHRA Route 66 Nationals presented by K&N to early June on the 2018 Mello Yello Drag Racing Series Schedule has also shifted the yearlong JEGS Allstar points battle for the 2018 event. Due to this, NHRA announced today that both the NHRA West Central Division and the Northwest Division will finalize their divisional teams for the 2018 JEGS Allstar competition with their final event in the 2017 racing season.

The West Central divisional event at Tri-State Raceway, Earlville, Iowa, Sept. 8-10 and the Northwest divisional event at Woodburn Dragstrip, Sept. 15-17 will be the last event for racers in those divisions to earn points, and a spot in the 2018 JEGS Allstar event to be held at Route 66 Raceway on June 2, 2018.

As communicated early this year, and beginning with the 2018 JEGS Allstar event, racers will now count their best five in-division events toward their JEGS Allstar point’s total.

The 2017 JEGS Allstar event saw the team from the North Central Division earn their eighth team championship while the West Region grabbed their third Top Alcohol Regional Team Championship.

The 2018 JEGS Allstar points began at the following events:

Maple Grove Raceway, Reading, Pa., May 26-28, 2017

Atlanta Dragway, Atlanta, Ga., May 19-21, 2017
