MOE ALFAQIH WINS STREET OUTLAWS 405 VS. 716 ROUND 2 AT LANCASTER 

LANCASTER, NY – Lancaster National Dragway hosted a huge crowd for Street Outlaws 405 vs. 716 Round 2 featuring Kamikaze Chris from the Discovery Channel reality show “Street Outlaws on Friday night.

Moe Alfaqih of Cheektowaga, N.Y. not only topped the field of 26 Buffalo Street Outlaws, but he also defeated the “Elco” of Kamikaze Chris in special grudge race to give the 716 crew the win for the second year in a row. In the final round of the Buffalo Street Outlaws, Alfaqih defeated last year’s winner Ed McGuinn to claim the victory.

The Buffalo Street Outlaws debuted their new Unlimited Big Tire class, which included two-time Pro Modified World Champion Mike Janis among the competitors. Ron Szewczyk of Derby, N.Y. got the win in his “Head Knocker Chevrolet Nova over Mike Zmuda. Chris Halton of Amherst, N.Y. took top honors in BSO Street Limited over three-time winner Jason Bezinque.

In Franco’s Pizza IHRA Drag Racing action, Wayne Cleveland of Williamsville, N.Y. picked up the win in Top 8 over Michael Mallare. Cleveland made a near perfect pass in the finals as he ran his 5.74 dial-in with a .518 reaction time.

Mason Fix of Amherst, N.Y. almost picked up two wins as he defeated Roger Kieffer in the finals of McGard Mod ET. He then advanced to the final round of Tread City Tire Street, but lost on a double breakout to Matt Hughes of Lockport, N.Y.

Lucas Salemi of Clarence Center, N.Y. earned his third win of the season, and second in a row, in Hebeler’s Sales Bikes & Sleds. Salemi and Mike Peters are the only two drivers to win in the class in 2017 with each driver taking three wins a piece.

Mallare Enterprises Top ET was split between Rick Szewczyk, Jr. and Jan Winkowski as the final could not be run for the midnight curfew.

This Friday night (July 7) is Frist Responders Night at Lancaster National Dragway. All firefighters, EMTs and police personnel can see a full show of Franco’s Pizza IHRA Drag Racing for just $5 with valid ID.
