Mike Janis Works the Bugs Out Before O’Reilly Spring Nationals

Elma, NY – After a less than acceptable outing at the NHRA Get Screened America Pro Mod Series season opener in Gainesville, Florida, Mike Janis and his Aeroquip backed team went back to the drawing board before heading to Houston for the NHRA’s O’Reilly Auto Parts Spring Nationals.

“Gainesville was very frustrating,” said Crew Chief, Mike Janis Jr. “We put a ton of off season R&D into our motor program but were very limited to our on track testing and it showed.”

“After the Gators, we went home, tore down the car and went right back to the Dyno. We picked right up where we left off and are making more power than we ever have but we still needed to get the car down the track. So, we headed out to Tulsa Raceway Park for some testing.”

After running a string of 3.80’s in the 1/8 mile; Team Owner/Driver, Mike Janis feels a load has been lifted off his back.

“From the first time I let out the clutch I knew we were in the ball park,” said Janis. “It’s been a long couple of weeks waiting to do this. The car is responding to the changes we’re making which puts us leaps and bounds ahead of where we were at the Gators. You have no idea what a relief this is.”

Mike Janis Racing would like to give a special thanks to David Cook of Tulsa Raceway for preparing an excellent racing surface.
