MASULLO, SOBCZYSNKI, RICKETSON, BABIAK & MARKLE WIN AT LANCASTER

LANCASTER, NY – Lancaster National Dragway hosted Pack the Track on Friday for their Franco’s Pizza Friday Night IHRA Drag Racing program. A great crowd of fans took advantage of discounted general admission on a warm and steamy late July evening.

The Top 8 class final came down to a battle between dragster vs. doorslammer. The rear engine dragster of Joe Masullo of Buffalo, N.Y. came out on top over Tony Madonia after Madonia slowed up on his final pass of the night. Jeff Sobczysnki of West Seneca, N.Y. was victorious in Mallare Enterprises Top ET. Sobczysnki chased down Bill Balser, Jr. to get the win.

McGard Mod ET once again came down to a Ricketson Family Fued. This time Reid Ricketson of Delavan, N.Y. beat his brother, Clay, for his second win of the season. The Ricketson family has six wins in McGard Mod ET this season. The Hebeler’s Sleds & Bikes field was paired down to final between a snowmobile and motorscyle. In the end, Brian Babiak of Elma, N.Y. earned his second win of the season aboard his Kawasaki motorcycle over the sled of Pete Marston.

Tim Markle of Hilton, N.Y. picked up his third win of the season in Tread City Tire Street. Markle got the victory after Kale Wischman red lighted in the finals.

Coming up next weekend, Lancaster National Dragway hosts its biggest event of the season with the annual Sunday Nostalgia Reunion Weekend, July 29-31. The fun starts Friday night with a regular card of Franco’s Pizza Friday Night IHRA Drag Racing plus a special Nostalgia Eliminator class. Saturday and Sunday are full days of old school racing, including the AA Nostalgia Gassers, Gasser Racing Series and more. Saturday’s program will conclude with the induction of the second class of the Lancaster National Dragway Wall of Fame. Sunday will feature a giant car show hosted by the Clutch Artists of Buffalo.
