LANCASTER CANCELS AUGUST 4 DRAG RACING PROGRAM

Forecasts call for late-day severe storms; Rest of Sunday Nostalgia Weekend still on as scheduled

LANCASTER, NY – With the potential for severe weather forecasted for Western New York later today, Lancaster National Dragway has decided to cancel its Franco’s Pizza Friday Night IHRA Drag Racing program for August 4.

“All forecasts are calling for thunderstorms, severe at times, starting right about the time we’d be lining up to begin the racing events. Would rather play it safe, than soggy and sorry,” said Tim Packman, Track President.

The rest of Sunday Nostalgia Weekend is still on as scheduled for Saturday and Sunday. Saturday’s events include the Clutch Artists Car Show on the infield of the stock car oval and the Lancaster National Dragway Wall of Fame Induction Dinner. Pit gates open at 8 a.m. on both Saturday and Sunday with time trials starting at 10 a.m.
