Elma, NY – Last month Mike Janis wheeled his Eaton Aeroquip backed Pro Modified Mustang to the winner’s circle in the new legal Pro Mod class at the ADRL Speedtech U.S. Drags IV. This weekend he’ll look to be the new classes first two time winner as well as a double class winner, while running in Pro Modified and Pro Extreme in his Jan-Cen/AJPE Duster.

“Getting back to the winner’s circle in Virginia was great,” said team owner/driver, Mike Janis. “We love the ADRL format and the ability to run two classes. I could think of nothing better than winning in both classes at a race so close to home,” added Janis.

Summit Raceway Park in Norwalk, Ohio is just under four hours from Janis’ Elma, NY shop. Many of Janis’ friends, family, and fans from Western New York are expected to be making the trip to cheer on Janis and his team.

“I know we’ll have some support this weekend. A lot of people have stopped by the shop (Jan-Cen Motorsports) and told us they would see us there. I was surprised how many there were, especially with most of the local racers heading out of town for the bracket finals. We’ll have some customers and friends running there so we’ll keep an eye on the net to see how our guys are doing there. So we can keep our group informed,” said crew chief Mike Janis Jr.

While they will have a stray eye on their “group” running in the bracket finals Janis and his team will have plenty of work on hand running both cars this weekend.

“When we ran both cars in Virginia it wasn’t as bad as we had thought it would be but, don’t get me wrong you stay busy. There really isn’t a free moment to take time with visitors and I know we’ll have a lot this weekend. Heck, if they hang around long enough we’ll have to put them to work,” said Janis.
