NORWALK, OH – Numbers. It’s all about the numbers for B1 Racing Extreme Pro Mod driver Josh Hernandez this weekend as he attempts to break into the top eight as he competes in the Summit Racing Equipment Ohio Drags V at Summit Motorsports Park in Norwalk, Ohio.

At the conclusion of the last ADRL event two weeks ago, Hernandez had fallen into ninth place – a mere 24 points out of his team’s chance to represent the country of Bahrain in the ADRL’s Battle for the Belts. The Ohio Drags are the last race to earn points for the event.

“We’re ready,” Hernandez stated confidently. “The past few days I’ve been extremely anxious to get up here to Norwalk to put it all on the table and get the racing started.

“There’s no denying we’ve had a tough year. This weekend is really important to the whole team, not only to get into the Battle for the Belts, but also because we know we’ve finally got this car running great, and we want to prove it.

“It’s time,” he said.

With a forecast calling for rain, Hernandez is just hoping he has a chance to get down the track.

“If the weather participates, we’ll have a really fast weekend because the temps will be nice and cool. Perfect for going fast.”

And Hernandez knows all about going fast – he set the track E.T. record last year at 3.658 seconds.

“I think we’ve got more than a ‘.65 in her, but if I was a betting man, I’d say it’s going to take more than that to win. I just hope the rain stays away and we get the chance to play.

“All I can say as that this weekend, we’re all in,” the Texas native said with a grin.

The first of three qualifying scheduled for Friday are set to begin at 12 p.m., followed by final qualifying session Saturday at noon. The first round of eliminations is slated to start at 3:30 p.m. Saturday afternoon.
