TORONTO, ON – When Andreacchi Motorsports returns to the Pro Modified Racing Association for the upcoming 2011 season, the car will be sporting a new look.

The sinister flat-black painted 1969 Chevy Nova-bodied Pro Modified will be featuring a new paint job, according to team driver Sam Andreacchi.

“The car’s going to have a new look,” he explained. “We’ve got a new paint scheme all ready for when we come out.”

The car, co-owned by Andreacchi and Domenic Calabria, had a good season last year, placing fifth in the PMRA Championship Point Award Series presented by Magnum Auto Parts and Patio Passport, qualifying well in the field, and highlighting the season with a victory at the Stratford Spectacular Hot August Nationals presented by Ideal Supply & NAPA Auto Parts at the Grand Bend Motorplex.

Andreacchi mentioned that no mechanical changes are expected for the Nova this year, which is powered by an Al Billes Racing 526-cubic inch Brad Anderson (BAE) Supercharged Hemi with a Lenco three-speed behind the engine. The team also runs an Al Billes fuel system and a Kobelco 14-71 supercharger.

“We still have our program with Al,” said Andreacchi. “We’ve been doing some tweaking with the car, hoping to keep up with all the screw blowers.”

Assisting on the team is co-owner Domenic Calabria, with Sam’s son Vincent Andreacchi as crew chief. Rick Defrancesco has been an integral part of the team for several years, and this year Dan Purcell will be helping with the effort.

Andreacchi also wanted to thank his family, wife Franca, and daughter Alessandra for all their support and help.

Major sponsorship for the effort comes from the Toronto-based Paul Wolf Lighting & Electric Supply Ltd.

Other sponsorship comes from Kidd Fuels Corp., Sylvania, IED (Independent Electrical Distributors), Thomas & Betts,  Eaton, Nuteck Mechanical, Cooper Lighting, 3M Signs, Al Billes and Skull Motorsports.

Andreacchi added the Nova will be on hand for the PMRA opener during the Victoria Day Weekend Challenge May 20-21 at the Cayuga Dragway of Toronto Motorsports Park.

“We’re just about done, we’ll be ready,” he said. “We’re ready to come out and run with the boys.”
