Focus on Fun at Summit Racing Patriot Nationals presented by Mickey Thompson

Norwalk, OH – Racing and revelry will be all the rage for junior dragster drivers at the Summit Racing Equipment Patriot Nationals presented by Mickey Thompson Performance Tires & Wheels, June 28-30 at Summit Motorsports Park in Norwalk, Ohio.

The inaugural event, which is part of the Protect the Harvest Midwest Junior Super Series presented by Lucas Oil, is for youth ages 6-17 and their families and friends. Eleven different categories of racing, as well as a gamblers’ race, will be contested.

As a super-special element, NHRA Top Fuel driver Antron Brown, NHRA Funny Car driver Bob Bode and NHRA Pro Stock Motorcycle rider Andrew Hines will mix it up with drivers in the pit area.

“We’ll have all of these stars in the pit area, and I think that will be a cool experience for all of the kids, whether they follow the Protect the Harvest Midwest Junior Super Series presented by Lucas Oil or not,” said Bill Bader Jr., Summit Motorsports Park president.

The fun-filled event will feature a water theme, and there will be a water slide, jump-houses, a slip-and-slide, water balloons and more. Summit Motorsports Park staff members will even have water-squirters.

“This will be a weekend in the dead of summer that we give our full attention to youth,” said Bader Jr. “That’s very important, and we want to make this event larger than life for them.”

On Friday, the Trent Heating and Air/Amanda Kryzstan Andrews Law Dinner will be served, and on Saturday, the Tim Moss Memorial Ice Cream Social will be presented, as will a concert by musician PJ North and a fireworks show set to patriotic music.

In addition to the P&S Racing Best Appearing Contest, there will be contests for Best Engineered Car, Best Appearing Team, Long Distance, Most Chrome, Best Paint, People’s Choice and Most Exotic.

Summit Racing Equipment, Mickey Thompson Performance Tires and Wheels and others will provide plenty of products for door prizes throughout the weekend.

“I want this event to become the Halloween Classic of junior dragster racing,” said Bader Jr., referencing the annual fall event at Summit Motorsports Park that is one of the largest multi-day sportsman racing events in the country.

Summit Motorsports Park is at 1300 State Route 18, Norwalk, Ohio. For information about this event and other events, visit summitmotorsportspark.com or call 419-668-5555.
