FLETCHER, MADURI JR., RICKETSON, SALEMI & WINKOWSKI WIN AT LANCASTER @ NYIRP

LANCASTER, NY – Second-generation racer Thomas Fletcher of Churchville, N.Y. took home top honors in Mallare Trucking Top ET on Friday night at Lancaster Dragway @ New York International Raceway Park.

In other IHRA Drag Racing action, Pete Maduri, Jr. of North Tonawanda, N.Y. won Top 8 Eliminator. Ryan Ricketson won in Gianna Mazia’s Mod ET. Lucas Salemi of Clarence Center, N.Y. picked up his second-straight Hebeler’s Sales Bikes & Sleds win. Cody Winkowski of Depew, N.Y. won for the second week in a row in Tread City Tire Street ET.

The Mallare Trucking Top ET final was billed as the “War of the Wagons” as Fletcher’s Peak Antifreeze station wagon went head-to-head with the Chevy Vega wagon of Mark Glomb. Fletcher used his starting line advantage by way of his slower dial-in to beat Glomb for his first win of the year at Lancaster @ NYIRP.

Pete Maduri, Jr. had a bye run in the finals of Top 8 after his opponent broke in the semifinal round. The win was the second of the year at Lancaster for the Maduri family as his father, Pete Maduri, Sr., won on opening night.

Twin brothers, Ryan and Reid Ricketson, went head-to-head in the finals of Gianni Mazia’s Mod ET. Ryan Ricketson held off his brother at top end to pick up his first win of the season, and deny Reid the chance to win for the second week in a row.

Lucas Salemi remained hot in Hebeler’s Sales Bikes & Sleds. Salemi advanced to the final round for the third-straight week to begin the 2019 season, and then won for the second week in a row as he knocked off Mike Peters in the finals.

In Tread City Tire Street, Cody Winkowski picked up his second-straight win. Winkowski beat Canadian Peter Van Baalen in a double breakout to go back-to-back.

Next week Lancaster Dragway @ NYIRP is back in action with Tuesday Test & Tune, Wednesday Cruise Night and a IHRA Drag Racing program on Friday night headlined by the Supercharged Bounty Hunters. Visit www.lancasternationalspeedway.com for the full schedule of events.
