DRIVERS FROM TEAM BODDIE RACING TO PARTICIPATE IN 16-CAR EXHIBITION AT 30TH ANNUAL TOYOTA NHRA SONOMA NATIONALS

SONOMA, CA – NHRA officials announced today that drivers from Team Boddie Racing, from the San Francisco area , will participate in a special 16-car exhibition race on Saturday, July 29 as part of the 30th annual Toyota NHRA Sonoma Nationals at Sonoma Raceway.

The field will be comprised of eight of the finest big tire cars and eight small tire cars. The racers will get one time trial on Friday and eliminations will begin on Saturday. Before the first round of competition the racers will do a special call-out to assert their dominance before the start of racing.

The racers in the small tire field will include, George Raygoza, Jermaine Boddie Jr., Billy Hespeler, Scott Ray, Chris Alston, Ryan Jones, Steve Kuhls, and Armen Maghdessian. The eight racers in the big tire category will include Jermaine Boddie, Cole Dow, Shaun Burr, Troy Baugh, Monti Fitzgerald, Rod Burbage, Chris Dullinger, and Chris Poncia.

The winner of the exhibition will receive a special acrylic Wally produced by NHRA.

Team Boddie Racing traces its roots to the 1960’s racing in the Bay View district of San Francisco and has grown with the guidance of the Boddie family. Currently their group hosts events across the West Coast where grudge racers vie to be the best of the best.

The Toyota NHRA Sonoma Nationals is the 15th of 24 events during the 2017 NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series season and serves as the second stop of the famed NHRA Western Swing, a treacherous three-race jaunt in the Western United States. The event has played host to many dramatic moments and is also considered one of the fastest tracks on the NHRA circuit, annually presenting thrilling action for the massive fan base in the area.
